Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer. He won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, Connery died at the age of 90.

Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim (Rio de Janeiro, January 25, 1927 – New York, December 8, 1994), better known by his stage name Tom Jobim, was a composer, pianist, guitarist, arranger, Brazilian flutist and singer. Considered one of the great exponents of Brazilian music, Jobim internationalized bossa nova and, with the help of important American artists, fused it with jazz in the 1960s to create a new, popular sound. For this reason, he is sometimes known as the "father of bossa nova".

Pedro González

Biography

Pedro González is a Mexican comedian, musician, animator and sound designer who has worked in some of the most relevant Latin-American films of the past two decades. "Güeros", "Semana Santa", "Voy a Explotar" and "Edén" are some of the feature films where his work as a musician and sound designer stands out. Zulu has also directed and produced various multi-awarded animated short films as well as an experimental feature ("Se me Hizo Fácil"). In 2017, he formed the animation studio, Little Hour Films, with renowned animator and production designer Lauri Faggioni, and visual effects supervisor Javier Velásquez. It specializes in stop-motion and hand-made techniques. He is part of "La Bella Sobriedad", a script-writing co-op that has been helping directors for more than a decade, under the coordination of filmmaker/editor Yibran Asuad. It has supported projects like "Todas las Pecas", "Dramamex", "Semana Santa", and "El Lenguaje de los Machetes", among others. He has also written various scripts for either art-house, or commercial films in collaboration with Asuad, Alejandra Márquez and Eduardo Donjuan.

Unni Mary is a film actress and producer who works mainly in Malayalam films. She has also worked in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films. She acted under the screen name Deepa in Kannada. Unnimary was born to Augustine Fernandez and Victoria on 12 March 1962. She had her primary education from St.Teresa's Convent School, Ernakulam. She has a brother, Joseph Martin. She learned classical dance at the age of 3. Her mother owned a ballet troupe and she performed in many stages in India and abroad. She married Rejoy, a Professor at St Alberts college, Ernakulam on 12 March 1982, and they have a son, Nirmal. Their son Nirmal is married to Ranjini and they have a son, Rihan.

Ernie Adams

Biography

Ernie Adams (born Ernest Stephen Dumarais, June 18, 1885 – November 26, 1947) was an American vaudevillian performer, stage and screen actor and writer. Born in San Francisco, California to Leon D. Adams and Laurence G. Girard, he was also billed as Ernest S. Adams and Ernie S. Adams. He appeared in vaudeville, theater, and film. He started his career in musical comedy on Broadway. Along with his wife Berdonna Gilbert, he formed the vaudeville team "Gilbert and Adams". He appeared in more than 400 films starting from the silent era between 1919 and 1948, and was particularly known for playing shady characters. On Broadway, Adams appeared in Toot-Toot! (1918). On November 26, 1947, Adams died of an acute pulmonary edema at the West Olympic Sanitarium in Los Angeles, California, aged 62. He is buried in Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood. Magdi Ahmed Ali’s creative career began when he worked as an assistant director for several directors who included Mohamed Khan, Khairy Bushara and Youssif Shaheen. Fourteen years later in 1996 Magdi directed his first film title “Ya Donya ya Gharamy” (“Life My Love”). That work was followed by other titles such as 1998’s “al-Battal” (“The Hero”) which starred Ahmed Zakky, “Assrar al-Bannat” (“Girl’s Secrets”) and “Khaltat Fawziyah” (“Fawziyah’s Recipe”). Moreover, Magdi Ahmed wrote and directed “’Assafeer al-Ganna” (“Birds of Paradise”) which starred Fathy ‘Abd Al Wahab in addition to directing the television series “Frisca” and “Mamlakat al-Gabbal” (“Mountain Kingdom”) which aired in Ramadan, 2010. He studied directing at the Higher Institute for Cinema after completing his education at the Pharmaceutical Faculty.

Bokeem Woodbine (born April 13, 1973) is an American actor. In 1994, he portrayed Joshua, the main character's troubled brother, in Jason's Lyric. He won a Black Reel Award and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Critics' Choice Television Award for his role as Kansas City mob enforcer Mike Milligan in the second season of Fargo.
