Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Riri Riza

Biography

Riri Riza (born October 2, 1970) is an Indonesian director, screenwriter, and film producer known as one of the most influential filmmakers in Indonesian cinema. He studied at the Jakarta Institute of the Arts (IKJ) and later continued his studies at Royal Holloway, University of London. Riri’s career began to shine after directing Kuldesak (1998), an independent film considered a turning point for the revival of Indonesian cinema. His name became more widely recognized through films such as Eliana, Eliana (2002), Gie (2005), and Laskar Pelangi (2008), which became one of Indonesia’s highest-grossing films. He also directed other films such as Sokola Rimba (2013), Athirah (2016), and Paranoia (2021). In addition to directing, Riri is also active as a producer alongside Mira Lesmana through the production house Miles Films. Their collaboration has resulted in many high-quality films that have received both national and international recognition. Riri Riza is known for his strong storytelling and visual directing style, as well as his ability to highlight social and cultural issues in his films. With his dedication, he continues to contribute to the development of Indonesian cinema.

Rhys Mathewson

Biography

Comedian Rhys Mathewson is the youngest winner of both the Billy T Award and Fred Award. After participating in Class Comedians at age 15, in 2006, he knew he wanted a career in comedy, saying “as soon as I stepped off the stage for the first time I knew I as going to do this my entire life”. Three years later he won Best Newcomer for his first solo show in the NZICF, The Best $18 You’ll Ever Spend. The next year, 2010, saw his Billy T win – Mathewson was just 19 years old, the youngest person ever to be awarded the coveted yellow towel. Soon Mathewson started performing overseas, including in Chortle Fast Fringe at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and on television, in TV3’s Hounds. He also continues to make standup shows for the NZICF and in 2016 became the youngest winner of the Fred Award for Best New Zealand Show.

She has Crohn's disease but doesn't let it stop her from following her dreams and doing anything a normal person can do. She started modeling around the age of 5 and later in life decided to pursue her dreams of acting. Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy (January 23, 1998 – June 18, 2018), known professionally as XXXTentacion, was an American rapper, singer and songwriter. A controversial figure within the hip hop industry, Onfroy has been regarded to have left behind "a huge musical footprint" due to his impact on his young fanbase and his popularity during his short career. His most notable appearance is his tattoos and his distinctive half-colored hair, which was constantly changed throughout his career. Born in Plantation, Florida, Onfroy spent most of his childhood in Lauderhill. He began writing music after being released from a juvenile detention center and started his music career on SoundCloud in 2013, where he soon became a popular figure in SoundCloud rap, a trap scene that takes elements of lo-fi music and harsh 808s. Onfroy rose to prominence with the song "Look at Me" which is now certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He released his debut album, 17, on August 25, 2017, which debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, receiving a positive response from critics, some of which lauded the album for its personal narratives and diverse musical style. On August 15, 2018, the album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Onfroy's second album, ?, was released on March 16, 2018, and it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, with its singles "Sad!", "Changes" and "Moonlight" all reaching the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. The album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on August 7, 2018. In the week following his death, Onfroy's highest-charting single, "Sad!", went from 52nd to 1st on the Billboard Hot 100, making him the first artist to top the Hot 100 posthumously in a lead role since The Notorious B.I.G., with "Mo Money Mo Problems", in 1997. On June 18, 2018, Onfroy was fatally shot at the age of 20, in a robbery at a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The attackers fled the scene in an SUV after stealing a Louis Vuitton bag with $50,000 in it from Onfroy.

Eili Sild

Biography

Eili Sild (born October 26, 1942) is an Estonian stage, film, television and radio actress whose career began on the theatre stage in the early 1960s and has spanned over fifty years. Eili Sild was born in Tallinn. She attended the Tallinn 7th Secondary School (now, the Tallinn English College), graduating in 1961. In 1963, she graduated from the Tallinn Feature and Newsreel Film Studio (now, Tallinnfilm) and afterwards studied acting at the Lunacharsky State Institute for Theatre Arts (GITIS) (now, the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts) in Moscow, where she graduated in 1976. Eili Sild's first substantial film role was that of Maia in the 1964 Grigori Kromanov and Jüri Müür-directed black-and-white drama Põrgupõhja uus Vanapagan for Tallinnfilm, based on the multi-layered eponymously titled 1939 novel by A. H. Tammsaare. This was followed in 1966 by the Jüri Müür-directed drama Kirjad Sõgedate külast, also for Tallinnfilm, and based on several works by author Juhan Smuul. In 1977, Sild was cast in another small role as a housewife in the Jüri Müür-directed Tallinnfilm period piece drama Reigi õpetaja, which was based on the 1926 novel Reigin Pappi (The Pastor of Reigi), by Finnish author Aino Kallas. After a ten year absence, Eili Sild returned to the screen in the role of a witch in the 1987 Tallinnfilm Metsluiged, directed by Helle Karis. The film was an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's 1838 fairy tale The Wild Swans. The following year, she appeared in a two minor roles; the Roman Baskin-directed Tallinnfilm dramatic short Vernanda, based on the 1968 Arvo Valton-penned short story Vernanda leib; and in the Elo Tust-directed short dramatic film Nõid, starring Ülle Kaljuste and Enn Kraam. Both film shorts were produced for Tallinnfilm. In 1992, Sild made a small appearance in the Lembit Ulfsak-directed family comedy Lammas all paremas nurgas, which follows the adventures of two young boys who discover a painting that was believed to be lost long ago. The following year, she appeared in another small role in the Pekka Karjalainen-directed Finnish-Estonian comedy Hysteria. In 2012, Sild returned to the screen as the character Ilme in the Anna Hints-directed dramatic short Vaba maa, opposite actors Rita Raave and Raivo Trass.

Eero Milonoff

Biography

Eero "Käkä" Milonoff (born 1 May 1980) is a Finnish actor. He graduated from the Helsinki Theatre Academy in 2005, and he works as a freelance actor. In 2008, he was nominated for the Jussi Award for Best Actor for his role in the biopic Ganes (2007) as the drummer and vocalist Remu Aaltonen of the rock band Hurriganes. Milonoff is of German, Russian, and Swedish descent on his father's side. His father is the theatre and film director Pekka Milonoff, and he has three brothers: Aleksi, Juho, and Tuomas, of whom the latter two also work in the film and television industry.

Actress and comedienne Ashlie Rhey was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and grew up in Navarre, Ohio, where she graduated from Fairless High School with the Class of 1979. Ashlie was cast in her very first acting role while working as a model with Wilhelmina Models. Ashlie's modeling career took her to Europe and upon returning to the west coast she began pursuing her career as an actress. It was at that time that her theatrical agent received a casting call from Playboy landing Ashlie in seven newsstand specials and a pictorial for Playboy Australia. She went on to fill numerous roles for film and television productions for Playboy Enterprises. During her studies for acting she also worked as a hand model and body double. She poked the Pillsbury Doughboy and was the hands of supermodels Rachel Hunter, Niki Taylor and others in their cosmetics commercials. Kelly Lynch, Lara Flynn Boyle, Sarah Jessica Parker and Valeria Golino are a few of the actresses for whom Ashlie body-doubled in their movie posters and video box covers. One of Ashlie's early roles was as Shannon Thronton in the Telley Award winning Soap Opera Secrets. She then obtained some small roles and quickly landed her first starring role in the independent horror film The Summoned (1992). Her next break came when she was cast as the star of Bikini Drive-in (1995). In 2008 Ashlie began performing stand up comedy for the Spiritual, but not Religious in Sanctimonious Comedy and she created, wrote, produced, directed and starred in the sitcom pilot Daisy Power (2008). Along with her performance work Ashlie has followed a life long interest in alternative medicine, spiritual growth and the healing arts. Kaali Venkat

Biography

Kaali Venkat is a Tamil actor who mainly plays supporting roles in films. The first film Venkat acted was also by Vijay Prabhakaran, Thasaiyinai Thee Sudinum. The film failed to release but Venkat decided to keep his character name in it, Kaali, as his screen name after everything on the set was calling him by that name. He then acted in various short films made for the Kalaignar TV show Naalaya Iyakkunar and won the Best Actor in a Series Award in Season 3 of the show. After a series of small roles in various feature films, he first gained attention with his role in the action drama Thadaiyara Thaakka. The short films fetched him small roles in bigger projects like Kalakalappu and Udhayam NH4. He played a substantial role in mystery thriller Thegidi, which went on to become a sleeper hit and Venkat stated that he was flooded with friend requests on Facebook post the film's release.
