Elisabetta Catalano

Biography

Elisabetta Catalano (1944 – 4 January 2015) was an Italian fine-art photographer mostly specialized in black and white and color portraiture. Catalano was born in Rome, and took up photography as an autodidact. In the early 1960s she started collaborating with news and fashion magazines including L'Espresso and the Italian edition of Vogue. In 1963 she documented the work of Federico Fellini, who offered a cameo in his current film, 8½. Fellini and Catalano would forge a friendship that resulted in Catalano shooting extensively the director on set. At about the same time, she met many visual artists associtated with the Arte povera movement like Alighiero Boetti, Pino Pascali, Jannis Kounellis, Eliseo Mattiacci and Cesare Tacchi. Catalano's first solo exhibition, Uomini, was held in 1973 at the Il Cortile Gallery in Rome and at the Galleria Milano in Milan. It consisted of portraits of male artists, including Joseph Beuys, Enrico Castellani, Sandro Chia, Luciano Fabro, Joseph Kosuth, Vettor Pisani, Emilio Prini, Fabio Mauri and others. In 1978 the Polaroid Corporation commissioned her the exhibition Faces and Facades – a series of portraits of popular Italian film directors on Polaroid sheets. In 1980 she directed Bonjour Monsieur Lartigue, a short film about the French painter and photographer J.-H. Lartigue. In the 1980s she held the exhibition People of the French culture at the Carnavalet Museum in Paris. The photographs in the show were later purchased by the Maison européenne de la photographie in Paris and placed in the institution's permanent collection. In 1992 the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome held a retrospective of her work called I ritratti ("The Portraits"). Catalano's last exhibition, Le Collezioni, Non basta ricordare ("The Collections, remembering is not enough") was held at the MAXXI Museum in Rome in 2014.

Spotted by a producer in Mediacorp in 2004, Jesseca Liu was offered the meaty role of He Yi Xuan in the sports-themed drama, “The Champion”. From then, she began her career as a full-time actress in Singapore. Sheila Sim

Biography

Sheila Sim is arguably one of Singapore’s top models with her international portfolio of work. Her extensive work experience has spanned more than a decade and taken her to fashion capitals like Hong Kong, Tokyo, Milan and Paris. Zhang Ze Tong

Biography

Zhang Ze Tong is a Malaysian-Singaporean actor who joined Star Search 2019, one of Singapore's largest talent competition shows. He emerged as the champion, and began his acting career from there. With his commanding presence coupled with guy-next-door charisma on stage, Ze Tong wowed the panel of judges comprising of Hong Kong superstars Carina Lau, Simon Yam and Stephen Fung. Shaun Chen

Biography

Shaun Chen first started out as a model and was talent spotted by Mediacorp from the numerous billboard ads, where he was the face for Maxis (the largest telecommunications company in Malaysia). Shaun's modeling experience naturally helped him when he started hosting and acting. His debut on screen was in the form of dramatized hosting from the hit variety program, City Beat. His affable and friendly nature soon won the likes of Chinese drama producers who immediately cast him as an entrepreneur in City Heroes and later in the 100-ep Holland V whereby his character "Xiao Xin", a successful business man who suffers from temporary memory loss, made him a household name. Shaun has since taken on myriad leading roles in numerous Mandarin drama series, including Yummy Yummy, a joint-production between Hongkong's TVB and MediaCorp Studios and in 2006's highly-rated C.I.D, where his outstanding performance earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the Star Awards (Singapore's equivalent of the Emmys). Zoe Tay

Biography

Zoe Tay is a Singaporean actress , a former model and was named as "Queen of Caldecott Hill" by local media and fellow referred to as "Ah Jie" (senior actress) due to her status. Tay started out as a model at the age of 16. In 1987, she was named Model of The Year. After Tay was crowned champion of the inaugural Star Search in 1988, she was offered a 3-year contract with the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), now known as Mediacorp. While Tay had initially disliked acting, she began feeling passionate for her craft after her role in Crime and Passion in 1991. Her breakthrough performance as a materialistic young woman in Pretty Faces catapulted her into stardom. Her popularity was affirmed with a Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste Award at the Star Awards every year for ten consecutive years since its inception in 1994. In 1996, Zoe won the Best Actress award for her role in The Golden Pillow at the annual Star Awards. In 2004, she was the first actress to have been awarded the prestigious All-Time Favourite Artiste . Other than television dramas, Tay also forayed into films. In 2010, she starred opposite Hong Kong actor Kenny Ho in Love Cuts, playing the role of a terminally ill woman who has breast cancer. In 2013, she appeared in her first fully English-speaking role in Mister John with Irish star Aidan Gillen. Tay has collaborated with many artistes in her various projects. In an interview, she revealed that after her first win in 1996, she had contemplated quitting as she felt "strangely empty and lost". Instead, she enrolled in an acting class in New York, an experience which transformed her to "someone who is focused on improving my acting and who can be exemplary to other actors." Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer. He won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, Connery died at the age of 90.

Tang Ching

Tang Ching or Tang Jing was a Chinese film actor and businessman from Zhengzhou, Henan, working in the Cinema of Taiwan and the Cinema of Hong Kong. He starred in at least 70 films between 1956 and 1984, most of them kung-fu pictures of the 1970s. He initially moved to Taiwan in 1949, where he joined the army troupe in 1949. He began his acting career there at the Agricultural Education Films Company and was then contracted by the Motion Picture & General Investment Co. Ltd by Yuen Chau Fung in 1963. Stéphane Caillard (born 1 October 1988) is a French film and television actress. Since 1999, she has appeared in various films and drama series on French television. In 2004, she played Camille Dassin, the daughter of Richard Bohringer's character in the TV series Doctor Dassin. Caillard attended acting classes at INSAS Brussels and studied at the Asnières Studio-Theatre. In 2011, she appeared in Les Lyonnais, a film directed by Olivier Marchal. In 2012, she joined the Compagnie du Boramar in Collioure, with which she appeared in two plays by Molière. She won her first major role in 2015, playing Alma, one of the three heroines in the series La Vie devant elles, and then Julia Taro, in the TV series Marseille.
