Valerie Masterson

Biography

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Margaret Valerie Masterson (born 3 June 1937), is a retired English opera singer, a lecturer and Vice-President of British Youth Opera. After study in Italy, she began to sing opera in Europe. Returning to England, Masterson performed as principal soprano with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company from 1964 to 1969, becoming popular with audiences and participating in several of the company's recordings, as well as those of Gilbert and Sullivan for All and the BBC. She next joined English National Opera and went on to an international opera career lasting more than three decades. Although she performed a wide variety of roles, she was best known for her roles in the French repertoire and the works of Handel, as well as Gilbert and Sullivan. Her recordings include, in addition to many opera roles, operettas and musical theatre. She has been awarded a CBE and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Music. Karan Soni

Biography

Karan Soni (born January 8, 1989) is an Indian-American actor and comedian. Often appearing in comedic roles, he came to prominence for playing Dopinder in the films Deadpool (2016) and its sequels Deadpool 2 (2018) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), and voicing Pavitr Prabhakar / Spider-Man India in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Born in New Delhi, Soni moved to the United States to study business at the University of Southern California before pursuing an acting career. He made his feature film debut in Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), which was followed by lead appearances on the series Betas (2013) and Other Space (2015). Soni has also appeared in the films Ghostbusters (2016), Office Christmas Party (2016), and Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019). On television, he has appeared as a series regular on Blunt Talk (2015–2016) and Miracle Workers (2019–2023). Carlos Cunha Filho

Biography

Carlos Cunha Filho (Porto Alegre, 1950) é um ator brasileiro, que construiu sua carreira no teatro, cinema e televisão do Rio Grande do Sul. Em alguns trabalhos, foi creditado como Carlos Cunha. Formado em Direção Teatral (1977) e Educação Artística (1986) pela UFRGS, começou a fazer teatro na metade dos anos 1970, no Grêmio Dramático Açores, grupo experimental do Teatro de Arena. Desde então, participou de mais de trinta espetáculos, passando a destacar-se a partir de sua interpretação do imigrante italiano Giovanni Baracheta, em "Bella Ciao" (1989), peça de Dario Fo dirigida por Néstor Monasterio. Por este espetáculo, Cunha recebeu o Prêmio Quero-quero de melhor ator da temporada, concedido pelo SATED, sindicato dos artistas do Rio Grande do Sul, além do prêmio máximo de interpretação no Festival Nacional de Teatro de São José do Rio Preto. Foi duas vezes vencedor do Troféu Açorianos, principal premiação teatral de Porto Alegre: como melhor ator por "King Kong Palace" (1996), peça do autor chileno Marco Antonio de la Parra; e como melhor ator coadjuvante por "Édipo" (2008), peça de Sófocles adaptada e dirigida por Luciano Alabarse. Cunha tem ainda mais de trinta atuações em filmes e especiais de televisão, incluindo os longas-metragens "O Homem que copiava" (2003), de Jorge Furtado, em que interpreta o pervertido pai da personagem de Leandra Leal; e "Antes que o mundo acabe" (2010), de Ana Luiza Azevedo, em que faz o acaciano padre-diretor da escola onde os protagonistas estudam. Em 2004, Carlos Cunha Filho interpretou Getúlio Vargas no especial "O dia em que o Brasil parou", da RBS TV, que lembrava os 50 anos do suicídio do presidente. Silvio Laurenzi

Silvio Laurenzi (Rome, May 20, 1936 - Rome, November 5, 2021) was an Italian costume designer and actor. He began his career in cinema in the first half of the 1960s as an actor, an activity that around the first half of the following decade he began to alternate with that of stage costume designer, which over time became his actual profession, especially in the genre of Italian sexy comedy. Nonetheless, he continued to sporadically play some small roles, almost always impersonating the role of the funny little man with a homosexual orientation: in this sense, those in two films directed by Steno stand out, La patata bollente (1979) - in which he has several exchanges with the protagonist Renato Pozzetto - and Mi faccia causa (1984) - in which, as a lawyer, he addresses the magistrate (Christian De Sica) in the case in which he has to defend his client (Franco Caracciolo).

Gia Franzia

Biography

Gia Franzia was born in Santa Monica and grew up in Orange County, CA. She graduated from Long Beach State University with a degree in Theatre Arts. Immediately upon graduation, she moved to Los Angeles and studied at Playhouse West (one of L.A.'s top acting schools) for many years. She acted in several plays while there and also worked behind the scenes working as sound operator, lighting, and stage crew for multiple shows. From 2002 to present, Gia has co-produced and produced all of her films beginning with Peace of Heart, Special Dead, Rattle Basket, Condo Hell, The Writer's Ghost and Miss Nobody. Gia solely produced, starred, and co-wrote the controversial film Baby of Mine. She produced for director Tracy Pellegrino and actor Mark Pellegrino's short films shot in Cannes, Paris, Rome, London, Rio, Auckland, Brooklyn, Dusseldorf, Vancouver and Los Angeles. The shorts will come together as a feature length film titled, Strangers in a Strange Land. Gia has consistently appeared in leading and supporting roles in numerous indie films such as Wild Sunflowers, Night of the Flesh Eaters, Trick of the Witch, Heavy Makeup, Condo Hell, Fashion Murder Groove, The Writer's Ghost, L.A. I Hate You, and Miss Nobody. Most recently, Gia has appeared on Leah Remini's, It's All Relative as Leah's dog walker.

Lee Won-yong

Biography

Lee Won-yong was born in Seoul, graduated from Kyungshin School, and focused on sports. His debut in cinema was in 1927. Lee Won-yong's acting style began to change in 1934 when he appeared in director Ahn Jong-hwa's Crossroads of Youth which is currently the oldest surviving Korean film. Afterwards, Lee Won-yong appeared in director Ahn Jong-hwa's Passion in the Galaxy (1935) and The Passage of Life (1937). He decorated the second half of his acting career with director Ahn Jong-hwa. Lee Won-yong, an actor and producer, died of illness at his home in Hunjeong-dong at the end of February 1950.

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Rufus Jones (born 1975) is an English actor known for his appearances on television which include David Wilkes in W1A, Dr. Foggerty in Hunderby, Tom in Camping, and Peter in Home (which he also wrote). Jones began his career as one fifth of the comedy group Dutch Elm Conservatoire. On television, he is known for playing Doctor Foggerty in Julia Davis's award-winning dark comedy Hunderby, producer David Wilkes in W1A, and Miles Mollison in the BBC television mini series The Casual Vacancy. He also played Terry Jones in the BBC Four BAFTA-nominated Holy Flying Circus, Cosmo in comedy-drama Stag, and Tom in Julia Davis's Camping. In 2006, Jones appeared as the journalist in series 2 episode 3 of the BBC comedy Extras.
