Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Evgeny Shelyakin

Biography

Evgeny Vladimirovich Shelyakin (born 18 September, 1976; Krasnodar) is a Russian filmmaker, screenwriter, tv writer/director/producer and actor. Born and raised in Krasnodar. As a child, he went to a theater studio, independently came up with performances, and at school I created my own show group. Yevgeny received his first professional education as an electrical engineer. In 1998, Shelyakin graduated from the Krasnodar law Institute of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia with the qualification "lawyer" and worked as an investigator in the police for 4 years. At the same time, Yevgeny Shelyakin became interested in KVN. In 1995-1998, he was the captain of the KVN team "The Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" and played in the Krasnodar city League and for the city's national team. Later, he became the captain of the Kuban Cossacks team, which reached the semifinals of the KVN Higher League in 1999. In 2008, he graduated from VGIK with a degree in feature film Directing in the workshop of Valery Akhadov, where he currently conducts teaching activities. On television, Shelyakin worked as a screenwriter and director in entertainment programs, and also wrote scripts for TV series, including Afromoskvich and Happy Together. As an employee of the script department of Channel One, he worked on "New year's lights", which later turned into"Olivier Show". As a writer and director, he participated in the creation of the popular projects "Projectorperishilton", "Yesterday Live", and the animated animated show-parody "Cartoon Personality". On these projects, Yevgeny Shelyakin worked not only in the studio, but also directed on-site shooting of clips, sketches, and parodies of trailers. In 2008, he made a short film "Freud's Dolls", and the film "B/W" became his directorial debut in full meter. Started his career on the silver screen as a star, After graduating from the Teacher’s College Muhammad Kamaal al-Shennaawy taught art education at secondary schools. Meanwhile, as a plastic artist he held a number of art exhibitions. After two years, he left teaching to acting. During his first stage, he was very popular playing light comic lead roles. He formed a successful duet with super star Shadia where he joined her in some of the songs; “Al-hawa maloush dawa i.e. Love All the Way”, “Hamaamet al-salaam i.e. The dove of peace” and “Lessaanak Houssaanak i.e. Guard Your Tongue”. Kamaal produced a big number of films through his production company; “Wadaa’ fel-fagr i.e. Farewell at dawn”, “Nessaa al-leil i.e. Women of the night” and directed “Tanablet al-Sultaan i.e. The Sultan's idle followers”. His films “Al-mar’a al-maghoula i.e. Mrs. X”, “Akwa men al-hayaah i.e. Stronger than life” and “Tareek al-Domou’ i.e. Tears Road” mark the beginning of maturity as an actor playing more complicated roles. “Al-Karnak” declared the beginning of a new stage for the grand Al-Shennaawy. Of his popular TV series are: “Zeinab wal–‘arsh i.e. Zeinab and the throne” , “Hend wal-doctor No’maan i.e. Hend and Dr. No’maan”, “’Oyoun al-hobb i.e. Eyes of love”, “Le dawaa’y amneyya i.e. Security measures” and “Aakher al-meshwaar i.e. The end of the road”. Kamaal married several times. Among his ex wives was belly dancer Haaguer Hamdy, actors ‘Afaaf Shaaker and Naahed Shereef.

Sabah was a Lebanese film actress and singer. Sabah was among the first Arabic singers to perform at the Olympia, Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. She is considered one of three Lebanese icons, along with Fairuz and Wadih El Safi. She was an actress and producer, known for Wahabtak Hayati (1956), Sharia el hub (1958), and The Temple of Love (1961). She was previously married to Rushdi Abazah, Wassim Tabbara, Anwar Mansi, Baligh Hamdy, Nagib Shammas, Ahmed Farag, Joe Hammoud, Fadi Lebnan, Prince Khaled Bin Saud Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, and Youssef Chaban. She died on November 26, 2014 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Trond Holter (born 1965) is a Norwegian musician , best known as the guitarist in the glam metal band Wig Wam where he went by the stage name " Teeny ". He wrote most of the band's songs and was considered by many to be the band's creative brain. Holter is also the man behind and guitarist in the Fredrikstad-based heavy rock band Dream Police . He has previously played in bands such as Jack Daniels , Firefox , Bancock Suxx , DagFinn and Ole I'Dole . He also has extensive experience as a producer for other artists. Holter started Dream Police in 1989 with Odd René Andersen ( vocals ), Ole Petter Hansen Chylie ( drums ) and Rino Johannessen ( bass ). The genre was blues-based hard rock . In 2007 he formed the Trond Holter Band , together with Eirikur Hauksson , among others . In 2009 he started a music project called Swing of Death , in which his colleague from Wig Wam Bernt "Flash" Jansen was on bass . The other members were Jeanette Heidenstrøm from The Tuesday Girls , Lasse Finbråten from Circus Maximus and Stig Buckholm from Crash!. This was a theatrical music project that told a story about vampires , and had the subtitle "A Taste of Transilvania". In the summer of 2011 he joined as guitarist in Jorn , the band with Jørn Lande as vocalist.

Aimee Carrero (born July 15, 1988 in Santo Domingo, Domincan Republic) was raised in Miami, Florida. She attended the Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School and graduated in 2006. Aimee first began her professional acting career in 2007. Holding a strong base for television appearances, Aimee's credits include work on Hannah Montana (2006), Lincoln Heights (2006), and The Mentalist (2008). She made her first major film credit in the form of the animated comedy Ο Άλβιν και η παρέα του 2 (2009). Aimee Carrero is best recognized for her major film role in the television movie Level Up (2011). The film premiered on November 23, 2011 and subsequently spawned a series by the same name Level Up (2012) the following year. Aimee reprised her film role of spirited teenager Angie Prietto and rejoined her original cast mates on further adventures inside and outside the series' online video game of 'Maldark: Conqueror of All Worlds'. These adventures serve as the premise on which the series continues and airs on the Cartoon Network, the same channel on which the film debuted. Xavier Justo is a retired Swiss banker and the 1MDB whistle blower. In 2011, Justo had handed a British journalist named Clare Rewcastle Brown thousands of documents, including 227,000 emails, from the servers of his former employer, PetroSaudi, which appeared to shed light on the alleged theft of hundreds of millions of dollars from a state-owned Malaysian investment fund known as 1MDB. The documents that Justo leaked have set off a chain reaction of investigations in at least half a dozen countries, and led to what Loretta Lynch, the US attorney general, described as “the largest kleptocracy case” in US history. Later that year he arrested by Thai police and flown to Bangkok. Justo was charged with an attempt to blackmail his former employer, a little-known London-based oil-services company named PetroSaudi. Katherine Johnson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Katherine Johnson (née Coleman; August 26, 1918 – February 24, 2020), also known as Katherine Goble, was an American mathematician whose calculations of orbital mechanics as a NASA employee were critical to the success of the first and subsequent U.S. crewed spaceflights. During her 35-year career at NASA and its predecessor, she earned a reputation for mastering complex manual calculations and helped pioneer the use of computers to perform the tasks. The space agency noted her "historical role as one of the first African-American women to work as a NASA scientist". Johnson's work included calculating trajectories, launch windows and emergency return paths for Project Mercury spaceflights, including those for astronauts Alan Shepard, the first American in space, and John Glenn, the first American in orbit, and rendezvous paths for the Apollo Lunar Module and command module on flights to the Moon. Her calculations were also essential to the beginning of the Space Shuttle program, and she worked on plans for a mission to Mars. In 2015, President Barack Obama awarded Johnson the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In 2019, Johnson was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. She was portrayed by Taraji P. Henson as a lead character in the 2016 film Hidden Figures. Katherine Johnson died in Newport News, Virginia at age 101.

Zohran Mamdani

Zohran Kwame Mamdani (born October 18, 1991) is an American politician who has served since 2021 as a member of the New York State Assembly from the 36th district, based in Queens. A member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, he is the mayor of New York City. Mamdani was born in Kampala, Uganda, into an Indian family, to academic Mahmood Mamdani and filmmaker Mira Nair. The family immigrated to South Africa when he was five years old and then to the United States when he was seven, settling in New York City. Mamdani graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and earned a bachelor's degree in Africana studies from Bowdoin College. After working as a housing counselor and hip-hop musician, he entered local politics as a campaign manager for Khader El-Yateem and Ross Barkan. Mamdani was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2020, defeating four-term incumbent Aravella Simotas in the Democratic primary. He was reelected without opposition in 2022 and 2024. In October 2024, Mamdani announced his candidacy for mayor of New York City in the 2025 election. His campaign platform includes support for fare-free city buses; public child care; city-owned grocery stores; a rent freeze on rent-stabilized units; additional affordable housing units; comprehensive public safety reform; and a $30 minimum wage by 2030. Mamdani also supports tax increases on corporations and those earning above $1 million annually. He has been sharply critical of Israel's treatment of Palestinians, pledging to abide by the International Criminal Court arrest warrants for Israeli leaders by arresting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits New York City. During the Democratic primaries, Mamdani was endorsed by prominent progressive politicians, including Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. On June 24, 2025, Mamdani defeated Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates to become the Democratic nominee.
