Edwin H. Knopf

Biography

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Edwin H. Knopf (November 11, 1899 – December 27, 1981) was an American film producer, film director, and screenwriter. He was born in New York City and went to work early in his life in the editorial department of his brother Alfred A. Knopf's publishing business. After trying his hand at acting, Edwin turned to producing in 1928. Soon after being involved in several hit plays, he moved to Hollywood and found work as a director and screenwriter. Among his films as a director was Paramount on Parade (1930). As a producer, he was involved in the making of such films as B.F.'s Daughter (1948), Malaya (1949), The Law and the Lady (producer and director, 1951), Lili (1953), and The Glass Slipper (1955). Sketches of Edwin's early life in Italy are included in the book he wrote with his wife Mildred O. Knopf, The Food of Italy and How To Prepare It (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1964).

Ben Popp

Biography

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ben first started making videos on the family VHS camera while learning photography on good old 35mm film. After a short stint in the great city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Ben first got his paws on a 16mm camera and was exposed to the wonderful Riverwest Film Co-Op, he moved back to NM to finish up a Media Arts degree at wonderful Universtiy of New Mexico. There he met and began working with Basement Films, a motley crew of cinephiles with a massive 16mm collection. Shortly after completion of a BA, the midwest beckoned him back for a Masters degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Two years and many films later Ben arrived in Portland Oregon and immediately commenced in making films once more. In 2009 he helped form the micro-cinema Grand Detour which evolved into the Experimental Film Festival Portland. After teaching toddlers, elementary schoolers, middle schoolers, high schoolers, college students, and adults, animation, film, and video at an array of organizations Ben landed at the Northwest Film Center where he currently resides as the Filmmaker Services Manager.

Robert Gordon (August 21, 1913 in Pittsburgh – December 1, 1990 in Los Angeles) was an American director and actor. His acting career, in which he was usually credited as Bobby Gordon, began in 1923 while he was a child, and continued through 1939. His first directing credit came with the 1947 film Blind Spot, after which he directed several films, including The Joe Louis Story in 1953, It Came from Beneath the Sea in 1955, Black Zoo in 1963; and television series episodes including My Friend Flicka, Zane Grey Theater, The Texan and The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Yvan Le Bolloc'h

Biography

Yvan Le Bolloc'h (born 20 December 1961) is a French television and radio host and actor. Yvan Le Bolloc'h began as a teacher for four years in Brittany. He worked regularly with Bruno Solo and presented with him several music programs on Canal+ in the 1990s (Top 50 and Le plein de super), until the creation of the television series Caméra Café in 2001–2004 on M6 and its movie adaptation under the title Espace détente. He also made a brief appearance on the M6 series Kaamelott by Alexandre Astier. He participated in the show On va pas s'gêner, hosted by Laurent Ruquier, on Europe 1, then in On a tout essayé, on France 2. Yvan Le Bolloc'h is also a musician and has played guitar for many years. He is a member of a gypsy music group, inspired by the Gipsy Kings, named Ma guitare s'appelle revient. On 1 May 2007, he hosted Ségolène Royal`s rally in the Charlety stadium. In 2017, he supported Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his party La France Insoumise during the 2017 French presidential election. Paolo Laganà (they/them), born in Italy on October 28, 1986, is an Italian film director. Their passion for filmmaking began early, leading to the creation of several experimental short films on Super 8. They later lived in Bucharest, Romania, contributing to numerous films, including those by Radu Jude, Corneliu Porumboiu, and Andrei Gruzsniczki. Jodi began her acting career in San Francisco (1982), under the tutelage of theater guruJean Shelton, just after graduating from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, California. Since then, Jodi has appeared in dozens of theatrical productions on some of the most prestigious stages in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Shortly after earning her SAG Card in 1986, Jodi's career took flight, where she appeared on some top-rated TV shows and features in the last twenty years, such as Junior (1994), On ne vit qu'une fois (1968), "Stop with the Kicking/HBO", Murphy Brown (1988), Mariés, deux enfants(1987), Friends (1994), Urgences (1994), Les experts: Miami (2002) and Seinfeld(1989). After meeting her husband, actor Jim Fitzpatrick, the dynamic couple set-up shop (Five Star Studios, Inc.) to produce one- and two-act plays for the stage, in Los Angeles. Akshay Bhatia

Akshay Bhatia is a Georgia-born, Atlanta-based filmmaker. He recently served as Francis Ford Coppola's personal assistant and directorial apprentice on Megalopolis, where he followed the project from pre-production all the way through post-production and premiere. During the shoot, he aided in directing and writing scenes for the film, and apprenticed under Roman Coppola, director of the second unit, working most frequently with him to help rehearse the many practical special effects in the film. He also collaborated with Mike Figgis, director of Leaving Las Vegas, on MegaDoc, the behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Megalopolis. Along with the ongoing festival tour of his latest short film as director, titled The Preakness, starring Jeffrey Pierce of The Last Of Us fame, with music by electronic music legend Dan Deacon, Bhatia is in development on his debut feature, as well as serving as producer on an untitled zombie film directed by renowned film critic Scout Tafoya and executive produced by Mark Pellington, director of The Mothman Prophecies and Arlington Road.
