Carl Levin

Biography

Carl Milton Levin (June 28, 1934 – July 29, 2021) was an American attorney and politician who served as a United States senator from Michigan from 1979 to 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2007 to 2015. Born in Detroit, Levin graduated from Swarthmore College and Harvard Law School. He worked as the general counsel of the Michigan Civil Rights Commission from 1964 to 1967, and as a special assistant attorney general for the Michigan Attorney General's Office. Levin was a member of the Detroit City Council from 1969 to 1977, serving as the council's president for the last four of those years.

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Marsha P. Johnson

Biography

Marsha P. Johnson (August 24, 1945 – July 6, 1992) was an American gay liberation activist and self-identified drag queen. Known as an outspoken advocate for gay rights, Johnson was one of the prominent figures in the Stonewall uprising of 1969. Johnson was a founding member of the Gay Liberation Front and co-founded the radical activist group Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (S.T.A.R.), alongside close friend Sylvia Rivera. Popular in New York gay life, Johnson was also active in the City's art scene, modeling for Andy Warhol, and appearing onstage with the drag performance troupe Hot Peaches. Johnson was known as the "mayor of Christopher Street" for being a welcoming presence in the streets of Greenwich Village. Beginning in 1987, Johnson was an AIDS activist with ACT UP. Johnson's body was found floating in the Hudson River in 1992. While initially ruled a suicide by the NYPD, controversy and protest followed the case, eventually re-opened as a possible homicide.

Jin Shi Jia, also known as Kingscar Jin, is a Chinese actor and former swimmer, born on November 10, 1986, in Shanghai, China. He gained recognition for his role as Lu Zhanbo in the popular romantic comedy TV series 'iPartment', which became a hit among young audiences in China. Jin graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy, where he majored in acting. In the third grade, for the school talent show, he decided to make a film that would splinter any and all expectations. Ever since, he has produced projects ranging from fun stop-motions on his favorite childhood characters to, recently, films relating in one way or another to his condition as a human being. A recognized, photographer, painter, filmmaker, writer, and performer; he lives and works in Quito, Ecuador. He hopes to pursue his career abroad soon.

Sannah Nedergård is a Fenno-Swedish actor (MA) now located in Helsinki, Finland. Sannah graduated from the Theatre Academy, University of Arts in Helsinki in spring 2018 and has since then done acting both for stage and on camera. During her studies and work, she has lived in Vaasa, Helsinki, Stockholm and Berlin. Starting August 2020 Sannah is hired as an actress at Svenska Teatern in Helsinki. Right now she is rehearsing the role of Natalie in Yorkey's/Kitt's musical Next to Normal, directed by Markus Virta. In 2020 Sannah has acted the role of Young Stella in the movie adaptation of Kjell Westö's novel Den svavelgula himlen (The Yellow Sulphur Sky) - which is to premiere in November 2021. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Valentina Vargas (born December 31, 1964) is a Chilean-born actress. She developed most of her career in France, where she was raised. Vargas began her career in the dramatic art within the workshop of Tania Balaschova in Paris and also later at the Yves Pignot School of Los Angeles. Her cinematographic career started via the filming of three of the most important works[dubious – discuss] in contemporary French cinema, namely Pierre Jolivet's Strictly Personal, Luc Besson's Big Blue and Jean-Jacques Annaud's The Name of the Rose. Over the years, Vargas also worked with Samuel Fuller in Street of No Return, Miguel Littín in Los náufragos and Alfredo Arieta in Fuegos. Vargas is trilingual in Spanish, French and English. This has enabled her to pass without notice in films as varied as the cinematic horror film Hellraiser IV: Bloodline where she played the Cenobite Angelique, to the comedy Chili con carne of Thomas Gilou. She appeared opposite Jan Michael Vincent (Dirty Games), Malcolm McDowell and Michael Ironside (Southern Cross), and James Remar (The Tigress). After her performance in Bloody Mallory where she played "the malicious one", she turned to playing roles for television. Initially she played in a version of Les Liaisons dangereuses directed by Josée Dayan. She starred in this production with Catherine Deneuve, Rupert Everett, Leelee Sobieski and Nastassja Kinski.

He was raised in Sandusky, Ohio, which has served as the setting for several of his films, many of which are gay-themed. He both wrote and produced the autobiographical coming out film Edge of Seventeen, which was released in 1998. He has directed the 2001 film, Gypsy 83, and Another Gay Movie, which was released in 2006, as well as the follow-up Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild! which premiered at the Frameline Film Festival in San Francisco on 28 June 2008.
