George Segal

Biography

George Segal (February 13, 1934 – March 23, 2021) was an American actor and musician. Segal became popular in the 1960s and 1970s for playing both dramatic and comedic roles. Some of his most acclaimed roles were in films such as Ship of Fools (1965), King Rat (1965), Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966), The St. Valentine's Day Massacre (1967), Where's Poppa? (1970), The Hot Rock (1972), Blume in Love (1973), A Touch of Class (1973), California Split (1974), For the Boys (1991), and Flirting with Disaster (1996). He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and had won two Golden Globe Awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his performance in A Touch of Class. On television, he was best known for his roles as Jack Gallo on Just Shoot Me! (1997–2003) and as Albert "Pops" Solomon on The Goldbergs (2013–present). Segal was also an accomplished banjo player. He had released three albums and had also performed the instrument in several of his acting roles and on late night television.

Robert Carlyle

Biography

Robert Carlyle OBE (born 14 April 1961) is a Scottish actor. His film work includes Trainspotting (1996), The Full Monty (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), There's Only One Jimmy Grimble (2000), The Beach (2000), The 51st State (2001), Eragon (2006), 28 Weeks Later (2007) and The Legend of Barney Thomson (2015). He has been in the television shows Hamish Macbeth, Stargate Universe, Once Upon a Time and COBRA.  He won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Full Monty and a Gemini Award for Stargate Universe. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work in the miniseries Human Trafficking (2005).

Lou Ferrigno

Biography

Louis Jude "Lou" Ferrigno (born November 9, 1951) is an American actor, fitness trainer/consultant, and retired professional bodybuilder. As a bodybuilder, Ferrigno won an IFBB Mr. America title and two consecutive IFBB Mr. Universe titles, and appeared in the bodybuilding documentary Pumping Iron. As an actor, he is best known for portraying the title role in the CBS television series The Incredible Hulk. He has also appeared in European-produced fantasy-adventures such as Sinbad of the Seven Seas and Hercules, and as himself in the sitcom The King of Queens and the 2009 comedy I Love You, Man.

Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Lizzie is an entrepreneurial producer with significant experience in raising private finance and business management. She financed and produced her debut feature film in the early days of SEIS and the film went on to received a home-ent release with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Together with Emily, Lizzie has successfully secured financial backing for Bird Flight Films by a private investor and was awarded the the BFI Vision Award in 2020. Lizzie was mentored by Neal Street's Pippa Harris (1917, Call the Midwife, Revolutionary Road) through the Lighthouse Guiding Lights programme and has gone on to pay it forward as an official mentor of the BUMBLE Female Film Force alongside Emily.

Sara Nacer

Biography

Sara Nacer is an Algerian filmmaker based in Montreal where she also works as a digital product manager at Bell Media. After a postgraduate diploma at EM Strasbourg Business School, and a stint at La FEMIS, Laila Aoudj joined the Bejaia international festival of Rencontres Cinematographics where she became artistic director and programmer for five years. She also co-founded Dima Cinéma, a structure which aims to establish an alternative film distribution network in Algeria. His first documentary film “Let them all go”, shot in Algeria at the heart of the smile revolution, highlights the socio-cultural awakening of the young generation. Released in December 2019, the film broke records at the Cinémathèque québécoise with several sold-out screenings and great media coverage. She won the LOJIQ prize for a promising filmmaker at the Vues d’Afrique International Cinema Festival and the Best Documentary Film prize at the Images et vie Festival in Dakar. Her feature film “The Desert Rocker” was selected at the Tribeca Film Institute in 2017 and in artistic residency at the Jacob Burns Film Center in New York. She is also in production of a feature-length documentary selected for the Close-Up Initiative in 2020, an international development program for emerging filmmakers. Recognized in Montreal for her contribution to the promotion of cultural diversity, Sara has organized several events and produced several sold-out concerts, notably at Place des arts in Montreal.

Clive Wood (born 1954) is an English actor. Born in Croydon, Surrey, Wood's first starring TV role was as Vic Brown, opposite Joanne Whalley and Susan Penhaligon, in the 1982 ITV drama series based on the novel A Kind of Loving. He has played Matt Kerr in Press Gang, DCI Gordon Wray in The Bill and Jack Morgan in London's Burning. He also played Captain Smollett in the 1990 TV film, Treasure Island (having previously played Dick in the 1977 BBC version). He has also appeared in a cameo as an Auton masquereading as a Roman commander in the Doctor Who episode The Pandorica Opens. Wood played the role of Blair in Mr. Palfrey of Westminster (1984–85), and Stephen Richford in an episode of the television series A Touch of Frost entitled "Dancing in the Dark" (2004). He was also in the television series Midsomer Murders, playing the role of Geoffrey Larkin in the episode "Secrets and Spies" (2009), and again in 2014, playing Johnny Linklater in the episode "Wild Harvest". Paul Buissonneau

Biography

Paul Buissonneau started his career as a singer with french chorus "Les Compagnons de la Chanson". While the chorus was touring North America with Édith Piaf, Paul left the "Compagnons" and stayed in Canada. He became actor, put on stage many plays and revues, particularly for children (Quebec baby-boomers surely remember his "Roulotte") and made many T. V. appearances. A colorful character, Buissonneau founded "Le Théâtre de Quat'Sous" (litterally, The Four Pence Theater) with actors Yvon Deschamps and Jean-Louis Millette, and actor and singer-songwriter Claude Léveillée in 1955, and on may 1968, he put on stage a happening that changed music and theater in Quebec: "L'Osstidcho", starring Deschamps, singer Louise Forestier, singer-songwriter Robert Charlebois and his wife Mouffe. Other memories from Paul Buissonneau is his character Piccolo, created in the late 60's for a children TV series of the same name.
