Ray Martin
Biography
Ray Martin is an Australian television presenter, journalist and entertainment personality. He is among the most awarded stars of Australian television, having won five Logie Awards.
Martin began working for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1965. In 1969, he became the ABC's New York City correspondent for 10 years covering a wide range of topics. In 1978 he joined the Nine Network to launch 60 Minutes. From 1985-1993 he presented a daily variety show "Midday with Ray Martin" and hosted various specials, interviewing entertainment celebrities including Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Robin Williams, Elton John, Jim Carrey, Michael Douglas, Billy Crystal, Jodie Foster, Michael Crawford, Paul Hogan, Russell Crowe and Madonna. Martin hosted "A Current Affair" from 1994-1998 before returning to 60 Minutes to do special reports. In 2003 he resumed as host of A Current Affair and in December 2005 became the Nine Network's Senior Correspondent, assisting in reporting some major events including the Indonesian tsunami disaster in 2005. He has hosted diverse television events, from the Logie Awards, Commonwealth Games, World Cup Cricket, 1988 Bicentenary Spectacular and Federal and State Election nights to the aftermath of the 11 September terrorist attacks. Martin led the official broadcast of the World Youth Day event in Sydney in July 2008. Martin has also worked as a presenter for the Australian Special Broadcasting Service, In 2016 and 2017, and has hosted various prime time specials for commercial networks and a during Covid presented a satire of lifestyle television with a pandemic theme.

Nino Baragli
Biography
Nino Baragli (1 October 1925 – 29 May 2013) was an Italian film editor with more than 200 film credits. Among his films in English, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), both directed by Sergio Leone, are perhaps the best known.
Born in Rome as Giovanni Baragli, he was introduced in the film industry by his uncle, the renowned editor Eraldo Da Roma. He started his career in 1944 as film operator and assistant editor for Marinai senza stelle by Francesco De Robertis.
During his career he worked as editor in more than 200 productions between 1944 and 1996, including works by Federico Fellini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Sergio Leone, Damiano Damiani, Luigi Zampa, Giuliano Montaldo, Sergio Corbucci, Mauro Bolognini, Luigi Comencini, Cristina Comencini, Florestano Vancini, Gabriele Salvatores, Alberto Lattuada, Tinto Brass, Margarethe von Trotta, Pál Sándor, Bernardo Bertolucci, Roberto Benigni, Massimo Troisi. The single largest impact of Baragli's editing is likely on the films of Pier Paolo Pasolini. Gino Moliterno as described Pasolini as follows: "Outside Italy Pasolini is usually remembered as one of the most significant of the directors who emerged in the second wave of Italian postwar cinema in the early 1960s but, within Italy itself, Pasolini was always much more than just a distinctive and innovative filmmaker. By the time he came to make his first film, Accattone, in 1961, he had already published numerous collections of poetry, two highly-acclaimed novels, had collaborated widely in cultural-literary journals and firmly established himself as one of Italy’s leading writer-intellectuals."
Stefano Musi has called Baragli's contributions to Pasolini's films "enormous"; Baragli edited every one of Pasolini's feature films from his first, Accattone (1961), to his final film Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1975), which was released shortly after his murder. Geoffrey Nowell-Smith has written of the editing innovations in their early films, "When Accatone and Mamma Roma came out, Pasolini and his editor Nino Baragli were widely condemned as amateurish and incompetent, which is rather like saying that Cezanne's brushstrokes showed that he couldn't paint." Perhaps the best-known of Pasolini's films to English-speaking audiences is The Gospel According to Saint Matthew (1964), now considered a masterpiece by many critics. Nowell-Smith writes of the editing that "large sections of the film do not even bother to respect continuity, let alone to pay obeisance to it. ... Each shot simply presents itself as reality in its own right but there is no attempt to maintain the realistic illusion that had been the foundation of cinema since the early 1920s if not before." ...

Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer. He won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000).
Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama.
On October 31, 2020, Connery died at the age of 90.

František Čáp

František Čáp (7 December 1913 – 12 January 1972), also known as Franz Cap in Germany, was a Czech and later a Yugoslav film director and screenwriter. He directed 32 films between 1939 and 1970. Having created Slovene film classics such as Vesna, Ne čakaj na maj and Our Car, he is also one of the most popular directors of early Slovene cinema in 1950s and the 1960s.
Čáp was born in Čachovice (now in central Czech Republic). As an already established professional, he moved to Ljubljana in 1952, following an invitation by Branimir Tuma, director of Triglav Film. In 1957, he moved to Portorož, a coastal town in southwestern Slovenia, where he lived until his death.

Calogero Buttà was born in Capo d'Orlando (ME) on 11/03/1951, he graduated from the scientific high school of Acireale, and without too much enthusiasm enrolled in the faculty of letters of the University of Catania, while for some time now he was interested of theater.

Shih Kien (Chinese: 石堅, 1 January 1913 – 3 June 2009), also known as Shek Wing-cheung, Sek Gin, or Shek Kin, was a Hong Kong–based Chinese actor and martial artist. He was born on January 1, 1913 in Shigang, Guangzhou, China and died on June 3, 2009 in Hong Kong.
Sek Kin began his career in the film industry in 1939 as a make-up artist. He made his acting debut in 1940 with the film "Flower in a Sea of Blood". In the 1950s and 1960s, he became well-known for his roles as villains in kung fu films. He appeared in many popular films of this era, including the "Wong Fei Hung" series, the "Fong Sai Yuk" series, and "Buddha's Palm".
In 1973, Sek Kin starred opposite Bruce Lee in the film "Enter the Dragon". He played the role of Han, the main villain of the film. Sek Kin's performance in "Enter the Dragon" was critically acclaimed and he is considered to be one of the greatest villains in kung fu cinema.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Sek Kin continued to act in both films and television series. He also began to work as a production manager on films. In 1996, he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Hong Kong Film Critics' Association. In 2003, he was given the Professional Achievement Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
Sek Kin died on June 3, 2009 at the age of 96. He was a highly respected actor who made a significant contribution to the Hong Kong film industry. He is remembered for his iconic roles as villains in kung fu films and for his groundbreaking work in the early days of Hong Kong cinema.
