Simon Baker

Biography

Simon Baker (born 30 July 1969, height 5' 9¾" (1,77 m)) is an Australian actor and director. In his television acting career, he is best known for his lead role in the CBS television series The Mentalist as Patrick Jane and as Nicholas Fallin in The Guardian. In his film acting career, he is best known for the lead role of Riley Denbo in Land of the Dead and Christian Thompson in the film adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, based on the 2003 novel of the same name. Simon Baker was born to a high school English teacher, Elizabeth Labberton, and a groundskeeper/mechanic, Barry Baker, on 30 July 1969, in Launceston, Tasmania. He was raised as a Roman Catholic. His parents divorced while he was still young. His mother later married Tom Denny, a butcher. Simon Baker also has a sister, currently a doctor in Australia, and three younger half brothers. By 1972, the family had moved from Launceston to Ballina, New South Wales, where Baker's parents hoped to secure better paying jobs. In 1986, he graduated from Ballina High School as Simon Baker-Denny, after completing his primary school education at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School, also in Ballina.

Marina Massironi (Legnano, 16 maggio 1963) è un'attrice, comica e doppiatrice italiana di teatro, cinema e televisione, nota anche per essere stata spalla di scena del trio Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo. Iniziò gli studi di recitazione alla fine del 1982 ed ebbe le sue prime scritture teatrali circa due anni dopo. Nel frattempo sposatasi con Giacomo Poretti, intraprese con questi l'attività cabarettistica, creando il duo noto con il nome di Hansel & Strüdel. Il divorzio da Poretti non cessò tuttavia la collaborazione artistica con l'attore, nel frattempo divenuto parte del trio Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo: a partire dagli anni novanta Marina Massironi ha collaborato con il trio sia in televisione, sia al cinema che, infine, al teatro. Infatti il suo film d'esordio fu in loro compagnia in Tre uomini e una gamba, partecipando successivamente a Così è la vita e Chiedimi se sono felice. Nel 1998 recita in Fuori dal mondo con Margherita Buy e nel 2000 vince sia il Nastro d'Argento sia il David di Donatello come migliore attrice non protagonista per Pane e tulipani. Marina Khan

Biography

Khan was born in the district Dera Ismail Khan Tehsil Tank (till 1992) N.W.F.P. now KPK province of Pakistan. Her father Rehmat Khan was a Pakistani, an ethnic Pashtun and her mother Anna Rehmat was of English descent but settled in Pakistan. Also, she is the grandniece of Nawab of Tank. Her father worked for the Pakistan Air Force and the family had to relocate almost every two years depending upon his job assignment. So she said in an interview, as a result of this situation, that she did not have long-term childhood friends. Marina Khan made her debut in a PTV drama in honor of Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Pakistan's national hero from the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. Later, she received her real breakthrough from the drama serial Tanhaiyaan in 1985. "Marina Khan rose to fame with Tanhaiyaan, which became a tremendous hit amongst Pakistani audiences. "However, later Marina took up directing and production as parts of her profession and also had her own cooking show. Currently, She is settled in Karachi also remains the goodwill representative of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). She hosted the show Marina Mornings on ARY Digital. In 2016 she appeared in Mehreen Jabbar's short film Lala Begum. The film was premiered at Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival on 6 August 2016 under the Zeal for Unity banner. She later made a cameo appearance in Punjab Nahi Jaongi (2017) and appeared in reoccuring roles in Na Maloom Afraad 2 (2018), and Parwaaz Hai Junoon (2018). In the same year she appeared in Mehreen Jabbar's Eid telefilm Hum Chale Aaye. As for television, Khan is currently active in Urdu television industry being appeared in various television dramas. Her most recent appearances includes Jackson Heights (2014), Kaif-e-Baharan (2018), Noor-ul-Ain (2018), Qaid (2018), Dil Kiya Karey (2018) and Bandish (2019).

Paoli Dam

Biography

Paoli Dam (born 4 October 1980) is an Indian actress who started her career with the Bengali television serial Jibon Niye Khela (2003). She then worked in Bengali television serials such as Tithir Atithi and Sonar Harin; the former ran for six years on ETV Bangla. Dam spent her childhood in Kolkata, earning a postgraduate degree in chemistry from Rajabazar Science College. Initially, she wanted to become a chemical researcher or a pilot. Her debut Bengali film—Teen Yaari Katha, directed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha—began in 2004, but was not released until 2012. Dam's first film release was Agnipariksha, directed by Ravi Kinagi. Between 2006 and 2009, she appeared in five Bengali films, coming into prominence with the 2009 Kaalbela, directed by Goutam Ghose. In 2011, she received international recognition for her role in the Bengali film Chatrak. The film was screened at the Cannes film festival and also at film festivals in Toronto and the U.K. In 2012, Dam made her Bollywood debut in Hate Story and also appeared in Vikram Bhatt's Ankur Arora Murder Case, directed by Sohail Tatari. She won the Viewers' Choice Award for Best Actress for her performance in Natoker Moto at the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival in 2016.

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Sarah Margaret Qualley (pronounced /ˈkwɔːli/KWAW-lee; born October 23, 1994) is an American actress. A daughter of actress Andie MacDowell, she trained as a ballet dancer in her youth. She made her acting debut in the 2013 drama film Palo Alto. She gained recognition for her supporting role in the HBO drama series The Leftovers (2014–2017). Kris Wu

Wu Yifan (吳亦凡; November 6, 1990), known professionally as Kris Wu (크리스 우) or as simply Kris (크리스), is Chinese-Canadian former singer and actor. He was a member of the boy group EXO and their sub-group EXO-M, before leaving the group in May 2014. On 31 July 2021, Wu was detained by Beijing police after multiple rape allegations emerged on Chinese social media. In August 2021, the People's Procuratorate of Chaoyang District of Beijing approved his arrest on suspicion of rape. On 25 November 2022, the Beijing court sentenced Wu to a total of 13 years in prison for forcing three intoxicated women to have sex in his home, to be followed by deportation from China. Several hours later, the Beijing Municipal Tax Service announced he would also receive a 600 million yuan (US$84 million) fine for tax evasion. Currently, Wu is still in prison.

William Wyler

William Wyler (July 1, 1902 – July 27, 1981) was a German-born film director, producer, and screenwriter. Notable works include Ben-Hur (1959), The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), and Mrs. Miniver (1942), all which won Wyler Academy Awards for Best Director, and also won Best Picture. He earned his first Oscar nomination for directing Dodsworth in 1936, sparking a 20-year run of almost unbroken greatness. Film historian Ian Freer calls Wyler a "bona fide perfectionist," whose penchant for retakes and an attempt to hone every last nuance "became the stuff of legend." His ability to direct a string of classic literary adaptations into huge box office and critical successes made him one of Hollywood's most bankable moviemakers during the 1930s and 1940s.
