Biography

Satish Kaul (8 September 1946 – 10 April 2021) was an Indian actor in both Punjabi and Hindi movies. He acted in over 300 Hindi and Punjabi films and worked with Bollywood actors such as Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan amongst others. His notable film roles included ones in Sassi Punnu, Ishq Nimana, Prem Parbat, Suhag Chooda and Patola. Kaul won the "lifetime achievement" award for his contribution to Punjabi cinema at PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2011. He was regarded as one of the most successful regional film actors of all time. Mariinsky Orchestra

Biography

The Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra or just the Mariinsky Orchestra (formerly known as the Kirov Orchestra) is located in the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia. The orchestra was founded in 1783 during the reign of Catherine the Great, it was known before the revolution as the Russian Imperial Opera Orchestra. The orchestra is one of the oldest musical institutions in Russia. In 1935 Joseph Stalin changed its name (and that of the Ballet) to the Kirov, after Sergei Kirov, the first secretary of the Communist Party in Leningrad, whose 1934 murder by his regime Stalin was attempting to whitewash.[1] After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the name was changed back to the Mariinsky in 1992. The current artistic and general director of the Mariinsky Theatre is the conductor Valery Gergiev and the principal guest conductor is Nikolaj Znaider. Under Gergiev, the Mariinsky Orchestra has become one of the leading symphony orchestras in Russia.

Benjamin Charles Watson, sometimes credited as Ben Watson, is a Canadian actor. He is most noted for his role as Dontae Evans in the third season of the television series Designated Survivor, and his performance in the web series I Am Syd Stone. Born in Jamaica, Watson moved to Toronto, Ontario with his family at age 10. He acted in supporting film and television roles, most notably in the television drama series Soul, before landing his first major starring role in the television series The L.A. Complex. Watson was a Canadian Screen Award nominee for Best Supporting Performance in a Web Program or Series at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022 for I Am Syd Stone.

Biography

Laura Adkin is a filmmaker born and raised in Vancouver, BC. She began her career in the film and television industry in the early 2000s, starting as an actor and then moving behind the camera a decade later as a producer, writer and most recently as a director. After writing and producing a number of short form projects, her directorial debut The Goodnight Kiss received the prestigious Bravofact grant and went on to play festivals around the world and earn many awards and accolades including Best Short Film at the Edmonton International Film Festival and 8 Leo Awards nominations. Some of Laura's accolades include being handpicked for a female directors initiative through Disney, being chosen to pitch for the MPPIA short film award, having screenplays and short film's in competition finalist multiple times at the Austin Film Festival, being chosen for Telus Storyhive's Career Accelerator and WIDC's Career Advancement Module. Her feature film debut Re: Uniting was developed through Women in the Directors Chair having gone through their Story & Leadership program. Casey Kasem

Biography

Kemal Amin "Casey" Kasem (April 27, 1932 – June 15, 2014) was an American disc jockey, radio personality, and voice actor, who created and hosted several radio countdown programs, notably American Top 40. He was the first actor to voice Norville "Shaggy" Rogers in the Scooby-Doo franchise (1969 to 1997 and 2002 to 2009). Kasem began hosting the original American Top 40 on the weekend of July 4, 1970, and remained there until 1988. He would then spend nine years hosting another countdown titled Casey's Top 40, beginning in January 1989 and ending in February 1998, before returning to revive American Top 40 in 1998. Along the way, spin-offs of the original countdown were conceived for country music and adult contemporary audiences, and Kasem hosted two countdowns for the latter format beginning in 1992 and continuing until 2009. He also founded the American Video Awards in 1983 and continued to co-produce and host it until its final show in 1987. Kasem also provided many commercial voiceovers, performed many voices for children's television (such as Sesame Street and the Transformers cartoon series), was "the voice of NBC" and helped with the annual Jerry Lewis telethon. Alec Dougal Gillis is an Academy Award-winning American special effects artist and actor who served as part of the creature effects crew on the 1986 film Aliens, the 1992 film Alien3, the 1997 film Alien Resurrection, the 2004 film Alien vs. Predator, the 2007 film Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem and the 2018 film The Predator. He also appeared in a cameo as an unnamed technician in Alien vs. Predator, although he was not credited for the role. In 1988, Gillis co-founded Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI) with Tom Woodruff, Jr., and the company has since provided creature effects for Alien3, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Gillis's work has won an Academy Award for Visual Effects (for Death Becomes Her, although he was not listed on the official nomination) and a BAFTA. Donald McKinley Glover Jr. (/ˈɡlʌvər/; born September 25, 1983), also known by his musical name Childish Gambino (/ɡæmˈbiːnoʊ/), is an American actor, comedian, musician, and filmmaker. While he studied at New York University and after working in Derrick Comedy, a comedy group, Glover was hired by Tina Fey to write for the NBC sitcom 30 Rock at age 23. He gained fame for portraying college student Troy Barnes on the NBC sitcom Community from 2009 to 2014. From 2016 to 2022, he starred in the FX series Atlanta, which he created and occasionally directed. Mélanie Leray

Mélanie Leray is a French actress and theater director. After the school of the National Theater of Brittany where from 1991 to 1994 she took lessons from B. Bayen and H. P. Cloos, Mélanie Leray entered the Théâtre des Lucioles where she was an actress until 1997 with directors such as Christophe Lemaître. , Jean Deloche, Gilles Dao and François Rancillac. The same year, she also began a career in the cinema, under the aegis of Western by Manuel Poirier, a film crowned with the Jury Prize at Cannes. She directs promotion 9 of the school of the National Theater of Brittany around an adaptation of Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being. In 2019, Girls and Boys by Dennis Kelly at the Théâtre du Petit St Martin won the Molière for best solo on stage, the Laurent Terzieff prize from the Syndicat de la Critique and the J-C Brialy prize at the Anjou festival. In 2020, she created Viviane, a theatrical and cinematographic adaptation of Julia Deck's novel. The show is repeated at the Monfort Théâtre. In 2022, she creates at the Comédie de Caen Le Mérite a play that she co-wrote with Maëlle Puéchoultres. Mélanie has been an associate artist there since 2021. In January 2024, Mélanie Leray will create Together by Denis Kelly, at the Théâtre de l'Atelier.
