Biography

Simone Max (vers 1903 -Saint-Josse-ten-Noode 23 août 1983) est une humoriste, chansonnière et comédienne bruxelloise célèbre pour sa zwanze. Artiste de cabaret haute en couleur, Simone Max s'illustre dans des sketchs qui font la part belle aux quiproquos et aux sous-entendus coquins. La Queue de Billard et La Télévision couleur sont révélateurs de cet humour ravageur teinté d'expressions brusseleer. Simone Max interpréta des rôles au Vaudeville aux Galeries et à la Gaité. Elle commence sa carrière en 1926 à l'Alhambra où elle est entrée dans les grâces de Marcel Roels en 1933. Polyvalente, elle crée et tient le cabaret « Mon Village » dans une cave de la rue des Poissonniers à Bruxelles. Elle interprète un rôle dans le film Far west, réalisé par Jacques Brel en 1973 et présenté au Festival de Cannes. Elle fit ses adieux au public en 1971 après 48 ans de métier. Elle décède le 23 août 1983 à la clinique Saint Étienne à Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. Ses funérailles sont célébrées en l'Église royale Sainte-Marie à Schaerbeek, commune où elle résidait.

Catherine Saindon

Biography

Catherine developed a love for acting at 5 years old when she began performing in school plays. At the age of 10, she joined Yellowbug Theatre School, where she studied for 11 years, touring plays around the island of Montreal. In 2016, in her final year of professional theatre school, Catherine landed a lead role in the horror cult classic Game of Death (2017), which had its World Premiere at SXSW. Some of her other works include the feature film Hysteria (2022), Mean Queen (2018) for Lifetime, and the Netflix series, Spinning Out (2020).

Markos Zervas

Biography

Markos Zervas was a Greek set designer, production manager and writer. His career is inextricably linked to the course of the Finos Film company, participating in 152 of its films, even as a technician and sound engineer, in addition to set designer and production manager. Zervas was born in Athens in 1920. He collaborated with Filopoimin Finos, from 1939, then with the company Hellenic Film Studios, which was newly established and is considered the forerunner of Finos Film. Since 1952, he participated in almost all of the company's films, as a set designer, and from 1958 to 1977, when the company ceased to function as a production manager. Among the most important films in which he participated as a set designer, the following should be considered: I oraia ton Athinon (1954), No Harm's Done (1955), Laterna, ftoheia kai filotimo (1955), The Auntie from Chicago (1957) etc. While as a production manager, the most famous films of the company can be found, such as The Policeman of the 16th Precinct (1959), Makrykostas and Kondogiorgis (1960), Maiden's Cheek (1959), The Wise Guy (1962) and many more. After the end of the company, Zervas was involved in various productions of television and cinema. Finally, he counts more than 200 film credits. Zervas was also involved in painting and collage. In fact, his works were exhibited twice in Athens in 1989, and once in Ermoupolis, Syros in 2001. While, in 2003, the book: Finos Film 1939-1977 (Myth and Reality) was published, a rare document on the first years of the company, and the efforts of Finos, pre-war and post-war. However, twenty days after the presentation of this book, he dies at the age of 83, from a heart attack.

Biography

Doris Lai, born on December 30, 1984 in Taiwan, China, is a Taiwanese artist who graduated from Tao Chiang College and the Department of Applied English at Jingwen University of Science and Technology. She made her debut in 2003 as the female lead in Jay Chou's music video *Sunny Day*. In 2004, she joined the girl group Seven Flowers and released the group's debut album. The group disbanded in 2009 after several member changes. She has appeared in idol dramas including *Smiling Pasta* and *Star Apple Garden*. After 2010, she starred in dramas such as *The War of Wives* and *Liao Zhai III*. In 2017, she expanded into film and appeared in *Original Wish Road*. She took part in the soundtrack recording of *Miracle of Love* and *Prince Turns to Frog*, and hosted the CTS program *Battle Club*. In 2015, she confirmed her past relationship with Lee An and their subsequent breakup. She registered her marriage with Chiu Lo-wei in January 2024. In April of the same year, she received medical treatment for an ectopic pregnancy caused by in vitro fertilization procedures.

Sheri Davis

Biography

Sheri Davis, actress/producer/director, was born and raised in a small town in Texas. As a child, Sheri was a "tomboy". She grew up riding horses and motorcycles, from an early age. Always a fierce competitor, she was an athlete and honor roll student in high school and earned degrees in psychology and nursing in college. Sheri dove head-first into many industries in her professional life, learning them from top to bottom and excelling at each one. It was no different when she began acting. After being hired for her talent and look, many filmmakers discovered that with her knowledge and positive attitude, that her talents were being underutilized. Sheri was asked to help produce, cast, and pull together entire films and various other media projects. Her desire to learn and grow led to her working on film crews as well. She's worked on many different productions with differing responsibilities including assistant director, script supervisor, production manager, and more. Armed with her knowledge of the filmmaking process, from the seed of an idea through distribution, Sheri directed her first short film in 2017 titled, "Hair of the Dog", which has won several awards and continues to be in the film festival circuit. Sheri just completed directing the comedic short film, "970 Square Feet". Next, she will start pre-production on "Amber Alert" which will be the first installment to her anthology, and already has plans for distribution. Sheri is currently in contractual negotiations to direct several films. Sheri has also made a name for herself in the independent film world, as a very versatile actor who is not afraid to take on any role, as evidenced by her role as Karma Blake in the award-winning, and controversial short film "Snake With A Human Tail", which earned her the title of a "Scream Queen" and established a horror genre fan base. Sheri can be seen in other movies such as "Fall of Grace", "Till Death", and "Voices Thrown Silent". Sheri will also be appearing in the upcoming movies scheduled for release in 2019, "Lake of Shadows", "Vengeance Girl", "Violence on Demand", "Beary", "Killer Rose", and the short film, "The Lightning Man". Her roles are just as diverse as her skills, both on and off of a production set. Sheri has also received Best Actress Nominations and won 2 Best Actress Awards. Sheri currently resides in the Los Angeles area where she continues to act, produce, and direct.

Jancis Mary Robinson OBE, ComMA, MW (born 22 April 1950) is a British wine critic, journalist and wine writer. She currently writes a weekly column for the Financial Times, and writes for her website JancisRobinson.com, updated daily. She provided advice for the wine cellar of Queen Elizabeth II. Robinson was born in Carlisle, Cumbria, studied mathematics and philosophy at St Anne's College, University of Oxford, and worked in marketing for Thomson Holidays. Robinson started her wine writing career on 1 December 1975 when she became assistant editor for the trade magazine Wine & Spirit. In 1984, she became the first person outside the wine trade to become a Master of Wine. From 1995 until she resigned in 2010 she served as British Airways' wine consultant, and supervised the BA Concorde cellar luxury selection. As a wine writer, she has become one of the world's leading writers of educational and encyclopedic material on wine and was described by Decanter as "the most respected wine critic and journalist in the world". The Oxford Companion to Wine, edited by Robinson, is widely considered to be the most comprehensive wine encyclopedia in the world. The first edition was published in 1994, and took five years to write after she was signed on as editor in 1988. In addition, The World Atlas of Wine by Hugh Johnson and Robinson is one of the world's leading wine atlases. In 1995, Robinson appeared in a 10-episode wine course on BBC 2 television. This series was later reissued on DVD. A book titled Jancis Robinson's Wine Course was written to accompany the series and has gone through several editions. In 2015 she launched an online wine course, "Mastering Wine – Shortcuts to Success" on udemy. In 2022 she launched "An Understanding of Wine", an exclusive online course for BBC Maestro. She has an honorary doctorate from the Open University, and was made an OBE in 2003, among numerous other awards for her writing. Her accolades include multiple Glenfiddich Awards and André Simon Memorial Awards, and a selection as the Decanter "1999 Woman of the Year". In 2016, she was made an Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole, was given the German VDP association's highest honour and won for fourth James Beard Award in the US. Following a difference of opinion with Robert Parker over the 2003 vintage of Château Pavie, the following media coverage frequently described a "war of words" between the two critics. Less dramatic than the predominant press view, Robinson and Parker as of 2008 had a cordial relationship. In 2012, Allen Lane (Penguin) in the UK and Ecco in the US published a 1,200-page book called Wine Grapes co-authored by Robinson with Julia Harding MW and Jose Vouillamoz which won every major wine book award. The book provides comprehensive details on 1,368 vine varieties and won six major wine book awards. In 2018, Jancis appeared in the film SOMM 3 to taste some of the world's finest wines and discuss the Judgment of Paris (wine) with some of the world's most respected wine figures including the late Steven Spurrier (wine merchant). Growing up, he moved every 2 years or so (including 5 years in Australia 1967-1972). A year after graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. A back injury ended his career after only 6 years. After a hiatus of nearly 21 years, he answered his nation's call again and enlisted in the National Guard - taking training as a combat medic. Angelica Lee Sin-Jie (Chinese: 李心潔; pinyin: Lee Sin-je; born 23 January 1976 in Kedah, Malaysia) is a Malaysian Chinese film actress and pop singer. She started her career in singing and later moved on to acting in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Lee starred in The Eye, the hit Asian horror film by the Pang Brothers, winning her the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress, Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Festival and a Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia Award. She is among the very few Asian artists to be awarded as Berlin Film Festival Best Newcomer Awards in 2001 for her role in Betelnut Beauty. Lee has also starred in the films 20 30 40 (where she co-starred with the person who discovered her, Sylvia Chang Ai Jia), and Koma. She worked with the Pangs again on Re-cycle, which was screened at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. She is married to director Oxide Pang Shun.

John P. Ryan

Biography

Character actor John P. Ryan was born on July 30, 1936 in New York City. The son of Irish immigrant parents, Ryan graduated from Rice High School and studied English at the City College of New York, where he first developed an interest in acting. He served six years in the US Army and worked as a welfare investigator prior to pursuing an acting career. John made his film debut in the 1967 comedy "The Tiger Makes Out." He appeared in five pictures for Jack Nicholson; he's especially memorable as male nurse Spicer in "Five Easy Pieces." Manic, pale-eyed and craggy-faced, with an often intense and explosive screen presence, Ryan was frequently cast as nasty villains, hard-boiled police officers, and strict military men. John gave a strong and touching performance in a rare change-of-pace sympathetic role as Frank Davis, the bitter and regretful father of a murderous monster mutant baby in Larry Cohen's excellent "It's Alive." He also portrayed Davis in the okay sequel "It Lives Again." Other notable movie parts include the fanatical Colonel Hardcore in "Shamus," shrewd mob capo Patsy O'Neill in the witty "Cops and Robbers," evil scientist Schneider in "Futureworld," the dogged Lt. Parmental in "Breathless," vicious Irish mobster Joe Flynn in "The Cotten Club;" at his ferocious best as sadistic prison Warden Ranken in the powerful "Runaway Train," hateful fascist lunatic Glastenbury in the exciting "Avenging Force," ruthless drug kingpin Nathan White in the cruddy "Death Wish IV: The Crackdown," ramrod high school principal Mr. O'Rourke in the amusing "Three O'Clock High," and lethal robot history teacher Mr. Hardin in "Class of 1999." Among the TV shows Ryan did guest spots on are "M.A.S.H.," "The Rockford Files," "Hawaii Five-O," "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century," "Starsky & Hutch," "Kojak," "Hart to Hart," "The F.B.I.," and "Miami Vice." John had a recurring role on the TV series "Archer." In addition to his film and TV credits, Ryan also appeared in over 90 stage plays. Following his final film appearance in "Bound," John spent his later years giving acting lessons and was an advocate of spiritual healing. John P. Ryan died from a stroke at age 70 on March 20, 2007 in Los Angeles, California; he's survived by two daughters.

Andrew Bursiaga was born May 8, 2000 in Wyoming to Jose and Julia Bursiaga, both who served in the United States Air Force. Andrew discovered his love for acting and filmmaking at a young age of 12. His interest began to grow even stronger about the film industry and soon began to soak in as much knowledge as possible. In his teenage years he adopted the Stanislavski acting method and began to make more of his own films. He shared the same interest as some of his other friends and all began to work with each other, however, it was always going to be a new set of friends every few years due to the military orders his father received.
