Short film about a mom and daughter on a road trip. Created for Cap City Video Lounge's 48 Hour Film Festival in Tallahassee. Won Best Cinematography at the awards ceremony for the competition. Requirements: 3-7 minutes in length (excluding credits), had to use the line of dialogue "I have to return some video tapes," main genre of holiday (could use birthday), sub-genre selected was 'road trip,' had to include a shirt from a Railroad Square business (we chose Flippin' Great Pinball).

A couple (Karin Thome and Eberhard Klasse), whose relationship can't hold up to the pressure of their financial and career problems, only have their child left as the remaining connecting link. "City Japes July 1987" is a classic sitcom set in a building in the Garden City. The story revolves around three families - the Xus, the Leungs, and the Sus - who live in the same building and interact with each other. Despite occasional conflicts, the families are close-knit and share heartwarming moments. The Xus are known for their helpfulness, the Leungs are a loving couple, and the Sus have three siblings with distinctive personalities. The show features many memorable characters, including coworkers and friends of the families.
