Derek Godfrey

Biography

Derek Godfrey (3 June 1924 – 18 June 1983) was an English actor, associated with the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1960, who also appeared in several films and BBC television dramatisations during the 1960s and 1970s. Born in London, he performed with the Old Vic from 1956 where he played the roles of Iachimo and Enobarbus. With the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1960, he performed as Orsino, Hector, Petruchio and Malvolio. According to The Oxford Companion to Shakespeare, Godfrey "[w]ith his fine voice and often sardonic appearance...was a loyal company actor who revealed an intuitive grasp of the dark characters in Jacobean plays". He created the role of Jack Gurney in Peter Barnes's play The Ruling Class. He also appeared in a number of films such as Hands of the Ripper and The Abominable Dr. Phibes, and the BBC television dramas The Pallisers (as Robert Kennedy), Warship (as Captain Edward Holt) and Nicholas Nickleby (1977, as Ralph Nickleby). Paulina Gálvez

She was born in Santiago de Chile, Chile to a Chilean mother and a Spanish father, both economists. She was raised in Madrid from the age of eight. Started her artistic career as a Flamenco dancer in several companies (Carmen Cortes, Zambra), theatre with famous experimental Catalan group Els Joglars, from Barcelona and films and television in Europe. Actually she lives in the United States. She played the role of Gabriela in the movie Un rey en la Habana, 2005. In 2000 she played Marta, the Gypsy servant of the Queen of Swords and with Tessie Santiago were the only two actors to appear in all 22 episodes of this TV series filmed at Texas Hollywood, Almeria, Spain. Manish Malhotra

Biography

is an Indian fashion designer, costume stylist, entrepreneur, and film producer. He studied at Elphinstone College and entered the Hindi film industry in 1990 as a costume designer with Swarg. His breakthrough came with Rangeela, for which his contemporary costumes for Madhuri Dixit earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Costume Design. During the 1990s and early 2000s, Malhotra became one of Bollywood’s most prominent costume designers, creating notable looks for Sridevi in Gumrah, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and the ensemble cast of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In 2004, he launched his eponymous fashion label, expanding from couture into ready-to-wear and international retail. Beyond fashion, he has also worked as a film producer. Malhotra has collaborated with the Mijwan Welfare Society since 2010, supporting traditional Indian crafts such as Chikankari and Phulkari through his collections.

Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer. He won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, Connery died at the age of 90.

She is best known in the west for her performance in the British film Brick Lane (2007), the film adaptation of Monica Ali's best selling novel of the same name. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia William Harrison "Jack" Dempsey (June 24, 1895 – May 31, 1983), nicknamed "Kid Blackie" and "The Manassa Mauler", was an American professional boxer who competed from 1914 to 1927, and reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1919 to 1926. A cultural icon of the 1920s, Dempsey's aggressive fighting style and exceptional punching power made him one of the most popular boxers in history. Many of his fights set financial and attendance records, including the first million-dollar gate. Dempsey is ranked as tenth on The Ring magazine's list of all-time heavyweights and seventh among its Top 100 Greatest Punchers, while in 1950 the Associated Press voted him as the greatest fighter of the past 50 years. He is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, and was inducted into The Ring's Boxing Hall of Fame in 1951.
