Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Alicia Amanda Vikander (born 3 October 1988) is a Swedish actress. She is the recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award, and nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and three British Academy Film Awards. Born and raised in Gothenburg, Vikander began acting as a child in minor stage productions at the Gothenburg opera house and trained as a ballet dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm. She began her acting career in Swedish short films and television series and first gained recognition for her role in the drama series Andra Avenyn (2008–2010). She made her feature film debut in Pure (2010), for which she won the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. She gained wider recognition in 2012 for playing Kitty in Joe Wright's adaptation of Anna Karenina and Queen Caroline Mathilde in the Danish film A Royal Affair. She has since starred in the action film Jason Bourne (2016), the fantasy film The Green Knight (2021), the miniseries Irma Vep (2022), the historical drama Firebrand (2023), the horror comedy Rumours (2024) and the sci-fi thriller The Assessment (2024). Aaron Schimberg is an American filmmaker best known for the 2019 film Chained for Life and the 2024 film A Different Man. Schimberg's debut feature, Go Down Death, was the closing film of the 2013 Fantasia Film Festival. His next film, Chained for Life, premiered at the 2018 BAMcinemaFest and was released theatrically by Kino Lorber the following year. A Different Man, Schimberg's third feature starring Sebastian Stan and distributed by A24, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. He was named one of the top ten new directors to watch by Variety at that year's Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Nørby was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of opera singer Einar Nørby. She studied two years at the Danish Royal Theatre. She has received a number of awards and recognitions including the Ingenio et Arti medal in 2006. At the 27th Guldbagge Awards she was nominated for the award for Best Actress for her role in Freud's Leaving Home. She has been married a number of times. Sarah Louise Palin (born February 11, 1964) is an American politician, commentator, and author who served as the ninth Governor of Alaska, from 2006 to 2009. As the Republican Party nominee for Vice President in the 2008 Presidential election, alongside Arizona Senator John McCain, she was the first Alaskan on the national ticket of a major political party, and the first Republican woman nominated for the Vice Presidency. The youngest person and first woman to be elected Governor of Alaska,Palin held the office from December 2006 until her resignation in July 2009. She has since endorsed and campaigned for the Tea Party movement, as well as several candidates in multiple election cycles. On April 3, 2014, Palin premiered her latest TV show, "Amazing America with Sarah Palin," on the Sportsman Channel.

Jean-Claude Carrière (17 September 1931 – 8 February 2021) was a French novelist, screenwriter and actor. He received an Academy Award for best short film for co-writing Heureux Anniversaire (1963), and was later conferred an Honorary Oscar in 2014. He was nominated for the Academy Award three other times for his work in The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972), That Obscure Object of Desire (1977), and The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988). He also won a César Award for Best Original Screenplay in The Return of Martin Guerre (1983). Carrière was an alumnus of the École normale supérieure de Saint-Cloud and was president of La Fémis, the French state film school that he helped establish. He was noted as a frequent collaborator with Luis Buñuel on the screenplays of the latter's late French films.

Hossam Dagher is an Egyptian actor and director. He was born in Kuwait in 1980, and then moved to live in Egypt, where he received a bachelor's degree in medicine from Cairo University in 2002, followed by a master's degree in blood and immune system diseases in 2006. He then studied acting in TVI Actor Studio NY in New York until 2009, and flew back to Egypt to join Khaled Galal's acting workshop in Cairo Opera House's Creativity Center, where he had his big break, performing in the highly successful and controversial play “Ahwa Sada” (Black Coffee) in 2011, which was shoen in several Arab countries besides Egypt. Dagher continued his acting career afterwards through roles in numerous films and TV series, including the films “Safari” and “Amir Albehar” (Prince of the Seas), and the series “Ayza Atgawwez” (I Need to Get Married), “Khorm Ebra” (Pin Hole) and “Ibn Halal” (A Good Guy).
