Ryan Phillippe

Biography

Matthew Ryan Phillippe (/ˈfɪlɪpi/; born September 10, 1974) is an American actor. After appearing as Billy Douglas on the soap opera One Life to Live (1992–1993) and making his feature film debut in Crimson Tide (1995), he came to prominence in the late 1990s with starring roles in I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), 54 (1998), Playing by Heart (1998), and Cruel Intentions (1999). Throughout the 2000s and beyond, he took on a range of roles in films such as The Way of the Gun (2000), Antitrust (2001), Gosford Park (2001), Igby Goes Down (2002), The I Inside (2003), Crash (2004), Flags of Our Fathers (2006), Breach (2007), Stop-Loss (2008), MacGruber (2010), The Bang Bang Club (2010), and The Lincoln Lawyer (2011). Outside of film, Phillippe appeared in the lead role of Bob Lee Swagger on USA Network's Shooter (2016–2018) and reprised his portrayal of Dixon Piper in the Peacock adaptation of MacGruber (2021). In 1997, Phillippe met actress Reese Witherspoon at a party for her 21st birthday. Phillippe and Witherspoon, who was six months pregnant, married on June 5, 1999. Their daughter Eva was born in 1999 and their son Deacon was born in 2003. On October 30, 2006, the couple released a statement announcing that they were formally separating. Witherspoon filed for divorce on November 8, 2006, citing  irreconcilable differences as the cause. The couple's marriage officially ended on October 5, 2007, with final divorce arrangements settled on June 13, 2008, according to court documents. They shared joint custody of their children. He began dating model and actress Alexis Knapp in May 2010; they ended their relationship in September that same year. After their breakup, Knapp discovered that she was pregnant by Phillippe and gave birth to a daughter in 2011. Mark Linett is an American record producer and audio engineer who is best known for his remixing and remastering of the Beach Boys' catalog. Since 1988, he has been the engineer for Brian Wilson's recordings. He has also worked with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, Los Lobos, Rickie Lee Jones and Randy Newman. Linett is based in Glendale, California, where he owns a private studio, Your Place or Mine Recording. He has also been the broadcast music mixer at the IHeart Radio Theater in Burbank, California since 2014 and from 2009 to 2025 was the co-owner of M and B Audio Remote Recording whose remote truck "Horizon" did many high profile shows including the Grammys, The Iheart Awards, and The CMAs as well as benefit shows for the victims of Hurricane Sandy and Fireaid to help the victims of the 2025 wildfires in Southern California In 1996 Linett created the first true stereo mix of the Beach Boys' 1966 album Pet Sounds and has co-produced nearly all of the band's archival releases, including The Pet Sounds Sessions (1997), Endless Harmony Soundtrack (1998), Hawthorne, CA (2003), and The Smile Sessions (2011) as well as the Feel Flows (2021) and Sail On Sailor (2022) box sets. In addition to earning three[needs update] Grammy Awards, he was nominated for Best Engineered Album for his work on Brian Wilson Presents Smile (2004). In 2014, Linett appeared as Beach Boys' engineer Chuck Britz in the Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy. To create remixes of the Beach Boys' catalog, Linett uses ProTools as his DAW of choice, although he keeps analog tape machines for the purpose of transferring to digital. Since 2000, producer Alan Boyd, the band's archive manager, has been his longtime partner for such projects.

Renārs Kaupers (sometimes anglicised as Reynard Cowper; born 1 September 1974, in Jelgava) is a Latvian pop/rock singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter who is the vocalist of the band Prāta Vētra (known internationally as Brainstorm). Kaupers graduated from University of Latvia in 1996 with a degree in journalism. He can speak at least three languages with fluency: English, Latvian, and Russian. Kaupers' ancestors were probably Baron Friedrich von Stuart from Courland (1761–1842) and Immanuel Kant's niece Henrietta Kant. He is the lead singer of the Latvian pop/rock band Brainstorm, which came third at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with their song "My Star". In 2001, Renārs received the Latvian Film Prize as the best actor for his role as Juziks in the film Vecās pagastmājas mistērija (The Mystery of the Old Parish House). He hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga, Latvia, with co-host Marija Naumova (stage name Marie N), and also hosted Congratulations, the Eurovision 50th anniversary concert in Copenhagen, Denmark, with Katrina Leskanich. Kaupers' sons Edgars and Emīls run the indie-pop group Carnival Youth.
