Biography

Dixie Virginia Carter (May 25, 1939 – April 10, 2010) was an American actress. She starred as Julia Sugarbaker on the sitcom Designing Women (1986–1993) and as Randi King on the drama series Family Law (1999–2002). She was nominated for the 2007 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Gloria Hodge on Desperate Housewives (2006–2007). Carter made her professional stage debut in a Memphis production of the musical Carousel in 1960 and made her Broadway debut in the 1974 musical Sextet. After appearing for two years as District Attorney Brandy Henderson on the CBS soap The Edge of Night (1974–1976), she starred in the 1976 Broadway revival of the musical Pal Joey. Her other television roles included the sitcoms On Our Own (1977–1978), Filthy Rich (1982–1983) and Diff'rent Strokes (1984–1985). She returned to Broadway to play Maria Callas in the play Master Class in 1997 and to play Mrs. Meers in the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2004. She was married to actor Hal Holbrook, her third husband, from 1984 until her death. Qin Lan ( 秦岚) is a Chinese actress, model, and singer. She is known for her roles as Empress Fuca in Story of Yanxi Palace, Zhihua in My Fair Princess III and Mo Xiangwan in We Are All Alone. When she was admitted to college in 1999, she applied for accounting as required by her mother. Half a year later, Qin Lan and her classmates accidentally saw a message on TV - the national "First Art Cup" newcomer contest , and signed up to participate. She finally won the top ten gold medals in the model group of the competition.

Roberto D'Antona

Biography

Italian actor, director and comedian Roberto D'Antona was born in Taranto, he is the youngest of four children. He was just eleven when he took on the starring role in his first short film. In 2006, he joined a theater company and even if Roberto was suffering greatly from the separation of his parents, he faced the future more determinedly and continued to hope to shine on the big screen. From that moment his acting career started. In 2010, Roberto worked as assistant production and actor in several important music videos. In 2012, after starring in several short films, commercials and series, Roberto became nationally-renowned thanks to Dylan Dog: Il Trillo Del Diavolo by winning the Best Fan Film 2013 to Cartoomics: Fan Film Festival in Milan. In the same year he directed and starred a no sense web series called A.Z.A.S: All Zombies Are Stupid. The series has won five awards in LA Web Series Fest 2013 in Los Angeles (USA), including Best Director and Best Comedy/Horror Series. In 2013, he made one of the most award-winning Italian web series in the world, Johnny, that led Roberto to win even as Best Lead Actor and Best Villain. Many movies and short films followed, but the character that will make him famous is the weirdo sado-masochist Condom in the movie Insane. He won with this character four awards of excellence, among them that of Best Supporting Actor at the London Film Awards 2014 and at the American Movie Awards 2015. In 2016, he will play the main character Sam in the award-winning television series that he wrote, directed, produced and created: The Reaping. In 2017 has his first Italian theatrical debut with the thriller movie The Wicked Gift written, directed and interpreted by him.

Wunmi Mosaku

Biography

Oluwunmi Olapeju Mosaku (born 31 July 1986), known professionally as Wunmi Mosaku, is a Nigerian-British actress. She rose to prominence for her roles as Joy in the BBC Two miniseries Moses Jones (2009) and Holly Lawson in the ITV series Vera (2011–2012). She won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Gloria Taylor in the TV film Damilola, Our Loved Boy (2016). In 2019, she appeared in the fifth season of Luther, followed by her role as Ruby Baptiste in HBO's Lovecraft Country (2020). She portrayed the character Hunter B-15 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Disney+ series Loki (2021–2023). She reprised the role in the film Deadpool & Wolverine (2024).  Mosaku was nominated for the BAFTA for Best Actress and won the BIFA for Best Performance by an Actress in a British Independent Film for her role as Rial in the film His House (2020). For her performance as Annie in the 2025 horror film Sinners, Mosaku won the Gotham Independent Film Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, a Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress, and an Actors Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. Mauricio de Sousa

Biography

Mauricio Araújo de Sousa was born in Santa Isabel on October 27, 1935. His father, Antonio Mauricio de Sousa, is a poet and his mother, Petronilha Araújo de Sousa, also delved into poetry. Mauricio developed an interest in cartooning at a young age, and began to draw posters and illustrations for periodicals. At 17 years of age, he worked for a daily newspaper called Folha da Manhã as a crime reporter. In 1959, Sousa quit that job and began his comic book career, and created "Turma da Mônica" (Monica's Gang). The comics of Mauricio de Sousa have gained international fame, been featured on licensed merchandise, and have even been adapted for movies, television, video games, and even a São Paulo amusement park, the Parque da Mônica ("Monica's Park"). Two other Parque da Mônica facilities were also located in Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro, but they both closed in 2000 and 2005, respectively. From 1970 to 1986, Mauricio's comic books had been published by Editora Abril, until Globo took over in January 1987. His work has been published in many magazines and newspapers since 1959. Since January 2007, the comic book series is published by Panini Comics.

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer. He won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, Connery died at the age of 90.

An Egyptian actress of Lebanese origin. She was born in Zahle, Lebanon, to a middle-class family, as her father worked in the textile trade. She had the opportunity to receive some education, and as a child she was an actress, successfully playing the role of the mother in school parties. After completing her primary education, she joined one of the troupes that were widespread in Lebanon. She came to Egypt at the age of 25 with her father, who had liquidated his business in Lebanon and wanted to try his luck in Egypt. She and her father lived in Alexandria and joined Ali Al-Kassar's troupe. She continued acting, performing in approximately 32 plays with various theatrical troupes. She was famous for playing the role of the mother, but she also played the role of the elegant lady. Her features helped her stand out, and she also had a laugh with a special tone.

Alejandro de Leon

Alejandro De Leon earned his MFA in Producing from the American Film Institute Conservatory in 2010. He co-produced his first feature, Electrick Children, in 2011. The film premiered at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival and SXSW. It was screened at AFI Fest, BAFICI, and other international festivals. De Leon was Executive Producer on Night Moves, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kelly Reichardt. The film was featured at the 2013 Venice Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and BFI London Film Festival, and won the Grand Prize at the Deauville Film Festival. It received both domestic and international theatrical releases. In 2014, he co-produced Big Significant Things, which premiered at SXSW. He also worked as a production manager on Jim Mickle’s Cold in July and the Spanish feature Little Galicia. De Leon has produced and line-produced over a dozen short films, including The Strange Thing About the Johnsons and Munchausen, written and directed by Ari Aster. These films were official selections at festivals such as the New York Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, and Slamdance. He also line-produced two Student Academy Award winners: Thief (Gold, 2011) and Narcocorrido (Silver, 2012). His commercial credits include work for AMEX, Wendy’s, Toyota, Kenzo, Reebok, and Boost Mobile, as well as music videos produced in collaboration with companies like mssng peces, CAVIAR, Pulse Films, Parana Films, AF Photo, and i-D Magazine.

Mischa Maisky

Mischa Maisky (Latvian: Miša Maiskis, Hebrew: מישה מייסקי, Russian: Миша Майский; born 10 January 1948) is a Soviet-born Israeli cellist. Mischa Maisky was born in 1948 in Riga and is the younger brother of organist, harpsichordist and musicologist Valery Maisky (1942–1981). He was taught by Mstislav Rostropovich at the Moscow Conservatory from 1966 to 1970. In 1966, he won sixth prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. In 1970, he was arrested and spent 18 months in jail and a work camp and later 2 months in mental hospital. He emigrated to Israel in 1972, where he holds citizenship. In 1974 he studied with Gregor Piatigorsky in Los Angeles. Maisky currently lives in Belgium. Maisky has worked with artists including the pianists Martha Argerich, Khatia Buniatishvili, Radu Lupu, Nelson Freire, Peter Serkin, Evgeny Kissin, Lang Lang and Sergio Tiempo, the violinists Gidon Kremer, Itzhak Perlman, Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov, Joshua Bell, Julian Rachlin and Janine Jansen, and the conductors Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, Carlo Maria Giulini, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Muti, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Yuri Temirkanov, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenboim, James Levine, Charles Dutoit, Mariss Jansons, Valery Gergiev, and Gustavo Dudamel among others. Maisky first performed in the United States at Carnegie Hall in 1973. In 1976, he made his first performance in London and performed a recital with Radu Lupu the following year. He returned to Russia in 1995 to perform and record with Russian National Orchestra and Mikhail Pletnev. In 2021 DG released box of 44 CD’s with his complete recordings for the «Yellow Label» Maisky has 6 children and has performed with the 3 oldest - pianists Lily and Maximilian and violinist Sascha.
