Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. On October 31, 2020, it was announced that Connery had died at the age of 90.

Damla Sönmez

Biography

Damla Sonmez was born in Istanbul, Turkey. Her native language is Turkish and is fluent in English and French. Cinema has been her greatest passion since she was child. She is an award-winning actor of international distinction. She received several nominations for her performance in  Bornova Bornova (2009) , winning the Antalya Golden Orange Award, Ankara Flying Broom Women's Film Festival Award and a Sadri Alisik Theatre & Movie Award. She was also nominated for The Young Talent Award at the Yesilcam Movie Awards for her performance in Mahpeyker - Kösem Sultan (2010) As a young actress, Sonmez trained in cities throughout Europe. After graduating from Saint Joseph French High School in Istanbul, she was accepted to Université de La Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III Theatre department. She studied for a year in Paris before being awarded a scholarship to the Yeditepe University Fine Arts Theatre Department in Istanbul. She also attended Jillian O'Dowd's Contemporary Acting Workshop at the London Dramatic School of Arts.. Sonmez made her film debut in  Kampüste çiplak ayaklar (2009) , which was quickly followed up with her award-winning performance in Bornova Bornova (2009) in which she played a confused, yet ruthless Lady M-inspired girl from Izmir. She played a young conservative worker in _Çakal(2010)_ and was nominated for her work as an Ottoman Empire Sultan in Mahpeyker - Kösem Sultan (2010). Sonmez next played an abused girl who takes matters into her own hands in the comedy Kurtulus Son Durak(2012) She continued her work in film in Uzun Hikaye (2012) as an attorney's daughter who meets the love of her life, followed by Sen Aydinlatirsin Geceyi (2013) playing a young town girl who has the ability to stop time.

Karly Perez-Arevalo

Biography

Karly Perez-Arevalo is a first generation Latinx American filmmaker born and raised in Los Angeles County, California. She graduated from USC's School of Cinematic Arts with a BA in Critical Analysis of Cinema in 2019 and is a MFA student in USC's Film and TV Production program with a focus on Directing. In 2019, she was nominated for the 40th College Television Awards, an extraordinary honor recognizing her work as a producer on the short Drama titled Welcome Back. In 2020, the short Drama she produced titled Clarity was selected by Indy Shorts to screen at Heartland Film Festival. Before returning to USC for her MFA, she worked on the set of Lifetime made-for-television movies where she climbed the ranks of art department, art directing several features before starting a new path in development at Imagine Entertainment, the production company owned by renowned director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer.

George Murphy

Biography

George Murphy was an American dancer and stage, screen, and television actor, as well as a United States Senator. Murphy was a song-and-dance leading man in many big-budget Hollywood musicals from 1930 to 1952. He was the president of the Screen Actors Guild from 1944 to 1946, and was awarded an honorary Oscar in 1951. Murphy served from 1965 to 1971 as U.S. Senator from California, the first notable U.S. actor to be elected to statewide office in California, predating Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is the only United States Senator represented by a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In movies, Murphy was known as a song-and-dance man and appeared in many big-budget musicals such as Broadway Melody of 1938, Broadway Melody of 1940 and For Me and My Gal. He made his movie debut shortly after talking pictures had replaced silent movies in 1930, and his career continued until he retired as an actor in 1952, at the age of 50. During World War II, he organized entertainment for American troops. In 1951, he was awarded an honorary Academy Award. He was never nominated for an Oscar in any competitive category. He was the president of the Screen Actors Guild from 1944 to 1946. He was also a vice president of Desilu Productions and of the Technicolor Corporation. He was director of entertainment for presidential inaugurations in 1953, 1957 and 1961.

Kev Adams or Kev' Adams (born Kevin Smadja; 1 July 1991) is a French comedian, actor, humorist, screenwriter and film producer. Adams was born in 1991 in the 16th district of Paris. His father is a real estate agent of Algerian Jewish descent and his mother, of Tunisian Jewish descent, works in finance. He has two younger brothers, Noam and Lirone. He began taking theater classes at the age of seven. In 2009, Adams completed his French Baccalaureate in literature, and enrolled in law at the University of Paris X-Nanterre while simultaneously pursuing his acting career. He claimed that it was, "extremely difficult, nearly impossible, to balance both." In 2009, Adams was spotted by Elisa Soussan, Anne Roumanoff's producer, who invited him to perform at her Carte Blanche show at the Olympia (Paris). This stage performance was broadcast on Paris Première. Following this event, Adams was offered to be the opening act of a Gad Elmaleh show at the Palais des Sports. His first one-man show, The Young Man Show, first ran in Paris in 2009 at the Théâtre Le Temple and then continued at the Palais des Glaces before touring France. The tour ended in Switzerland on July 22, 2012, during the Paléo Festival de Nyon. He then performed a show called Test… Voilà, Voilà! at the Bataclan from November 27 to December 31, 2013. Dickie Moore

Biography

Dickie Moore (born John Richard Moore Jr.) made his acting and screen debut at the age of 18 months in the John Barrymore film The Beloved Rogue (1927). By the time he had turned ten he was a popular child star and had appeared in 52 films. Moore continued as a child star for many more years, and was the actor who gave Shirley Temple her first romantic screen kiss when that honor was bestowed upon him in 1942's Miss Annie Rooney. As with many child actors, once Moore got older the roles began to dry up. He made his final film in 1950, but was still in the public eye with the 1949 to 1955 television series Captain Video and His Video Rangers (1949). He then retired from acting for a new career in publicity. Moore died, age 89, in 2015.

She is best known for her starring role on the puppet show Kukla, Fran and Ollie, which ran from 1947–1957, occasionally returning to the air until the mid-1980s. The trio also hosted The CBS Children's Film Festival, introducing international children's films, from 1967-1977. Allison was married to music publisher Archie Levington. For contributions to the television industry, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6763 Hollywood Boulevard. Additionally, she appeared with puppets Kukla and Ollie on a 44¢ US commemorative postage stamp issued on August 11, 2009.
